A grateful mom shared the moment a soldier picked up her daughter and ran through an airport so they could make their flight – before social media helped find him so she could learn his name and say thank you properly. Mom Tia Lucia (pron: Tee-a Lu-chee-a) Walter, from Dallas, Texas, has flown out of Dallas Love Field numerous times, so was confident she and her family had given themselves enough time to catch their domestic flight on December 20. When the family arrived, however, Tia was met with an unexpected surge at bag check, and she, her husband and their two kids started to worry they weren't going to make their flight. Having made it through TSA, the family heard the announcement, "Last call for Midway. Doors closing." Tia and her husband, Zack, realized they each needed to grab a child and run, so Zack took their four-year-old son, David. But Tia swiftly realized she wasn't strong enough to run through an airport with her luggage and her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, River. She looked around near the food court, where she saw a soldier sitting, and hastily explained she was going to miss her flight and asked if he could help.

00:00I'm about to miss my flight. I found someone who was in the army and I said, hey, I need
00:06you to
00:06carry my daughter and sprint with me. He looked at me like I was crazy. Mom Tia Lucia thought she
00:11had plenty of time for her flight, but an unexpected bag check changed everything. By the
00:17time they cleared security, the overhead speakers delivered the news every traveler dreads. We were
00:22about to miss our airplane. Tia realized she couldn't carry her daughter and her bags. That's
00:28when she saw him, a soldier nearby. I put a river in his arms and then I was like, come
00:34on, let's go.
00:35They ran the length of the airport and made it just as the doors were closing. I'm like breathing
00:40heavier than I was breathing like running the marathon. It was so intense. In the rush, Tia
00:48never got the soldier's name. She posted the story online, hoping social media could do its magic.
00:53And millions of views later, this is wild. It is so good to meet you. And honestly,
01:00I feel like I don't even have like the words. I'm just like so speechless. I appreciate you for
01:06posting it on the internet, allowing me to have the experience of my parents and my friends being
01:11proud of me. Just did what I had to do. And pretty sure everybody else would have also done the
01:15same
01:15thing at the moment. I believe that there's a lot of good people out there.
