00:00Ciao!
00:01Ciao!
00:07I miei figli hanno visto delle presenze.
00:10E ho paura che stia accadendo qualcosa a mio marito.
00:14What's this thing with you and monsters and ghosts,
00:17because they seem to follow you everywhere you go?
00:20Why?
00:20You could ghost follow you, Banshee's is finisher,
00:22and there's a ghostly quality to it.
00:24Ok, ok.
00:27That is a good question.
00:29I don't know.
00:31I think that heightened realities are fun to make into more of a reality.
00:42I enjoy doing that.
00:44I enjoy the challenge of taking something that can be seemingly larger than life,
00:50too big for the room,
00:52and then bringing it back to something that actually is grounded in reality.
00:57and then those things end up being a lot of fun.
01:00I love those movies when I watch them,
01:02when I feel like they're grounded in reality.
01:04There's a movie called Godzilla Minus One out right now that's very, very good.
01:08They did an incredible job with Japanese movies.
01:10It's amazing.
01:12And so I love when you're able to do that.
01:16And it takes a certain amount of, you know, effort and skill,
01:18and it's just fun to weave those movies together.
01:22And I personally like the idea of, you know, having a career that's sort of like artistic movies that are
01:28supposed to, you know,
01:30change how you think or make you think deeper.
01:32But also, like, most of the movies that I grew up watching that inspired me to be an actress were
01:37honestly just entertainment.
01:38And I never really wanted to move.
01:40I can't bear when there's this notion that it's kind of snobbery attached to highbrow or, you know what I
01:47mean?
01:47It's like, I just like being entertained, too.
01:51So I want to be in those movies that are just purely for entertainment because that's kind of the purpose
01:56of movies as well.
01:59It's just escapism, really, and enjoying yourself.
02:03Since you are actors, you know all the tricks.
02:06So when you watch an horror movie, what scares you now?
02:09Oh, not in a horror movie, but I'll tell you what scares me, like, in general, which could be a
02:14good horror movie, actually, but pack mentality.
02:18Oh, yeah.
02:19It really scares me, like, when people behave in a group and there's an aggression in a group and more
02:26people join the group.
02:27Like, I get panicky because it's like, well, that's how really bad things happen.
02:32Mm-hmm.
02:32And people kind of, like, lose their minds and behave like animals when they all, like, gather in a pack.
02:38That really, really scares me.
02:39When I see something like that on the internet, I get, like, really, really scared.
02:43There's a movie called Blindness that did that well.
02:46Oh, really?
02:46With Julianne Moore. Yeah, it was a good movie.
02:48She goes blind for, like, a temporary period of time, but there's, like, a pack mentality that, like, starts to
02:53evolve in the background.
02:55It's good.
02:56Yeah, that's a good one.
02:57Yeah, isn't it scary?
02:59Yeah.
02:59That is, done well, that can be very scary.
03:03Strangers was always a scary one to me because it was, like, it could happen to anybody.
03:09When that, that's a part of a horror movie that I think is, there's an important element to it, that
03:13I like, where it's like, God, that could happen to me.
03:16What was it?
03:17It was just a, it was the idea that anybody can knock on your door and terrorize you.
03:23It's done very well.
03:26It's a scary movie.
03:28Thinking about that, do you believe that horror, unfortunately, is the genre that describes best today's world?
03:35I hope not.
03:37Like, I really hope not.
03:39And, and so that's why I think, like, you know, I want to have a career that sort of does
03:45everything because I believe that there is beauty in the world and there are lovely people in the world and
03:50there's beautiful nature in the world along with, like, horrible things.
03:57But I don't think horror is that.
04:00I mean, there's been a lot of great movies that evoke, you know, thoughts that will change, hopefully, and make
04:08people be kinder.
04:09So that would be terrible to think that I'm part of a movie to make people more horrible.
04:14Like, I don't think I'd want to be in that movie.
04:16Yeah.
04:18Yeah, I mean, I think it, you know, there's a, there's a, some sort of morbid curiosity that everybody has.
04:25It's, horror fits into that.
04:26That's just, that's just people.
04:28You go back to, like, Greek theater and it's Greek tragedies and it's always, stories aren't good without good conflict.
04:37And it's part of people's problem, too.
04:39It's like, man, if I don't have enough conflict, I'll make it.
04:41You know, like, I'll make sure that I got conflict.
04:45So it's, it's nice, it's a nice release to be able to go to the theater and have that conflict
04:50created for you, for your body to experience.
04:54And then you necessarily don't have to create the conflict for yourself, maybe.
04:59I don't know, that's my psychological.
05:01Yeah, and funny enough, the friends that I have that are into horror, they're, like, really gentle.
05:05So it's kind of, like, you know, interesting.
05:07Like, I feel like if somebody truly is, like, a horrible or evil person, I don't think they're getting their
05:12kicks from a horror movie.
05:13I think they're probably, like, going about it in their real life.
05:16I don't think horror fans, you know what I mean?
05:19I think it's entertainment, ultimately.
05:22Yeah.
05:22It's cathartic.
05:23Yes, thank you so much.
05:24Thank you.
05:25Thank you.
05:26Thank you.
05:26Ciao, ciao.
05:27Bye.
05:32Bye.
