All Malaysian pilgrims have been reported safe following a fire at a hotel in Makkah on Thursday (March 12), according to the Foreign Ministry.

The ministry, better known as Wisma Putra, said the fire was reported at about 5pm local time on March 12 at the Hotel Mira Ajyad in Makkah.

Initial information indicates that around 70 Malaysian pilgrims were staying at the hotel.

01:07and that so far there are no indications the incident was caused by a drone attack or sabotage.
