01:22This woman is just a young singer from a small town in Sweden
01:26Who did that cover, and then I reached out to her and I said
01:29Could you, could we use it for the show?
01:32And she was like, sure you can
01:34But she did a beautiful job of it, and it's amazing in that scene
01:38And do you have a favorite Needle Drop this season?
01:42Well, that's a really hard one
01:43That's like saying do you have a favorite kid
01:46I don't know, I sort of love the Kiss song
01:49And I love the Backstreet Boys
01:50Both of those are sort of highlights for me
01:52Really, Hello is at the top of my list in Swedish
01:56Yeah, and I would throw in Dancing with Myself as well

02:09And you've said you want to sort of stick to the comics
02:12And only change the storyline when it makes sense
02:14So how did you decide on the changes to make this season
02:18Especially the ending?
02:20This season, it was tricky because volume two of the graphic novel
02:25Was sort of, it was very much all over the place
02:27I set up the conceit of the show that we only exist within a 10-day period
02:32So I took around the killing of Kennedy
02:34And I thought, you know, if we were in that period of time
02:38Just a little bit before and afterwards
02:40Would it be a really good time?
02:41It was a very tumultuous time in the world
02:43You know, with the communism and the USSR and America
02:46There was a very stressful time
02:49And I thought that was a great place to put them
02:52Okay, and yes, about the final scene
02:55What are your plans for season three at this point?
02:58Because in the comic, the timeline is fully restored
03:00Right, I can't really tell you where I'm going
03:03Where I want to go forward
03:04I can just tell you the fans will not be disappointed

03:08Okay, and so this season is coming out
03:12After we've had X-Men Days of Future Past
03:15We've had Avengers Endgame
03:16We've had Legends of Tomorrow
03:17We've had Crisis on Infinite Earths
03:19We've had Stephen King's 22-11-63
03:22Why do you think time travel has become so popular in fiction
03:26In the past 10 to 15 years?
03:28Because I think at some level everybody fantasizes about it
03:31It's, you know, it's many of the trope of the sci-fi world
03:35And a lot of us read the stories growing up in it
03:37But I just think it allows you to tell wonderful creative storytelling
03:41It's a device that opens up your world
03:43If you can start in one time period, move to another
03:46It just gives you a way to tell a very refreshing story
03:50And it gives you another level of storytelling
03:52And I think that's really what people love about it
03:55And quite frankly, none of us know how to time travel
03:58So you can make up your own rules as you go

04:03How did you feel writing the last two episodes
04:07Regarding the character of Ben?
04:10Oh, I love Ben so much
04:11It was really hard
04:12It was, you know, it was sad
04:14Because he's such a beloved character
04:16But I wanted him to go out in a sort of heroic way
04:19And I wanted him to sort of be with Vanya
04:22Who, you know, is the other sort of shyer wallflower character
04:27And I thought that was just a sort of a beautiful way to see him go
