Intervista a Mark Strong su Shazam!
Trascrizione
00:04Tu non sei un eroe, oh caspita, tu sei un cattivo, super cattivo, dammi il tuo potere, o morirai.
00:14Ehi, alla lotta ai cattivi?
00:15Sì.
00:16You were the best dressed British man in 2015, and of course, and Savannah is very stylish,
00:26but if they would ask you to wear an ugly costume, you would refuse, or not?
00:33That's a tricky one.
00:34I mean, it depends.
00:35You have to kind of service the film that you're in.
00:39So, for example, when I played Sinestro, that was a really unusual looking guy.
00:45I mean, he has a sort of huge head, huge forehead, he's bright red, he has a tiny mustache, you
00:51know,
00:51a little widow's peak for hair.
00:53It's kind of an unusual look.
00:55But I embrace that, you know, if it serves the film, then I'd do it.
00:58But, you know, I like to look smart, so I prefer the characters that look good.
01:02Inside you're crying.
01:04Yeah, exactly.
01:05Words have a weight, because Savannah remembers his father's words for years.
01:12So, do you think that we should choose our words more wisely?
01:17Absolutely, of course.
01:18Especially when you're bringing up children.
01:20You know, as a father, I realize that.
01:22You know, family is incredibly important.
01:24And I think if you are going to help your kids or young people in any way, you've got to
01:30just kind of guide them.
01:31I mean, don't tell them what to do, because you'll never change them.
01:33I think people are born the way they are.
01:36All you can do is just help guide them on the right path.
01:38So, yeah, choose your words wisely.
01:41Max Strong says it, so.
01:42Yeah, yeah, I said so.
01:43So, yeah.
01:44What I love about the film, actually, talking about family, is that there is that family at the center.
01:50You know, in Italians, we love a family, you know what I mean, in a family story.
01:53And I think it's really interesting that you see the villain's backstory at the beginning as a young boy.
02:00And then you see our hero's backstory as a young boy.
02:03And the choices that they make.
02:04And obviously the kid that comes from the good family, although he's been bullied, makes the wrong choice.
02:10And the kid whose mother's deserted him, and you would think he's the bad family, makes the good choice.
02:14There's a kind of interesting thing at the center of the film about where we belong.
02:18Savannah says to the wizard that no one is pure of heart.
02:22But if he says so, what's the difference between a villain and a hero?
02:28Good point.
02:29Maybe the hero understands that you have to transcend the fact that we're not pure of heart.
02:35I mean, people say, don't they, think that there's good and bad in everybody.
02:39Yin and yang, eastern cultures understand that, that there is a good and a bad.
02:43If you see any of those Japanese animations, you know, by Miyazaki, like Spirited Away,
02:48whenever the bad guy or the spirit comes in, they're never defeated.
02:52They're just encouraged to leave.
02:54So the eastern culture understands the balance of good and bad.
02:57I think western culture demands that the hero wins.
03:00That's just the way it is.
03:02The wizard says that magic must be passed.
03:06Do you think that it's important passing magic, knowledge, passing something to other generations?
03:12If I knew somebody who had the capability of magic and they didn't pass it on to me,
03:16I'd be really cross, wouldn't you?
03:17Yeah, but not strictly magic.
03:20Maybe knowledge, something.
03:22Yeah, you know, knowledge, wisdom, all of those things.
03:24And we have to pass them on in the correct, you know, in the right way.
03:27Because you've got to be mindful of the fact that, you know, as you get older,
03:30you're in charge of everything.
03:31And you've got to understand that you need to guide people properly,
03:35both in the way they behave and, you know, and what you're leaving them to inherit.
03:39And we're not doing a particularly good job at the moment, are we,
03:42of making sure that the kids are going to inherit something good.
03:44But you've got to keep doing your best.
03:46Okay.
03:47Thank you so much.
03:48It's a pleasure.
03:48Nice job.
03:49I love you.
03:49You're a villain.
04:03You're a villain.
