Intervista a David Harbour e Sophie Okonedo su Hellboy
Trascrizione
00:42Sì!
00:43Vedo cosa, credo che tutti abbiamo monsters dentro di noi, credo che ci sono queste cose dentro dei nostri psyches.
00:50I'm a big, like, you know, I'm a big, like, psyche guy, like id, ego, superego sort of thing, and
00:57I think our ids are powerfully monstrous.
01:00I think they want to consume and destroy and kill, and I feel like we have all these, all these
01:08stuff inside of us.
01:09And the thing that separates us all from monsters are our conscious decisions, you know.
01:14This thing in our brain, this frontal lobe that allows me, even if I feel like I'm on the road
01:19and I want to kill somebody who cut me off,
01:22I can breathe and say, like, I'm not going to make those decisions, I'm not going to do that.
01:27So, yeah, I feel like in terms of monsters, like, there are certainly varying degrees, but I think that it's,
01:33uh, I think we all have that inside of us.
01:36Yeah, I agree with that.
01:37Do you? Yeah.
01:39Do you have those things inside of you?
01:41Of course, I mean, you act the same all the time when you're acting.
01:43Well, that's the thing, right?
01:44As an actor, you...
01:45I get to rage around and do what I want.
01:46Right.
01:47And don't have to keep it in, so...
01:48Right.
01:49And in fact, one of the things that I, one of the things that I hate is when, when you
01:55hear, like,
01:55when somebody does something horrible, people always brand them a monster.
02:00Like, the police or whatever will brand them, there's a monster, there's evil.
02:04And I don't fully believe in that.
02:06Like, I believe people are human beings, and they take monstrous action.
02:10But to, when you brand someone as other than yourself, you start to distance yourself from this idea that, like,
02:16we all have these things inside of us, and it's all of our responsibilities to behave in ways that are
02:22good.
02:23But there are not specific people that are monsters, and then specific people that are good people.
02:28We're just people.
02:30I mean, we're all sort of humans.
02:31And you can take action that is, you know, like Gandhi, or you can take action that's like Hitler,
02:36but it, they're still human beings.
02:38They're not an actual monster.
02:40So, that's something that's very, that I hate when people do that in society, when they brand something as other
02:47than them.
02:47Because we are all human.
02:48Mm-hmm.
02:50In your brief visit to Hell, did you meet the Demogorgon?
02:54How is he?
02:56Oh, he's minor compared to the people that Hellboy has to deal with.
03:00My God.
03:01Like, the Demogorgon would be like a joke.
03:03He's like a guy to go get a drink with at a bar.
03:06You know, he's got giants, he's got witches, he's got like, yeah, he's got plenty of more horrible people than
03:11that.
03:12Mm-hmm.
03:12Esa.
03:26Cygnore.
03:28Siamo fatti per stare insieme.
03:32È vero, però non funzionerà perché io sono un Capricorno e tu sei matto!
03:47Grazie a tutti.
