Intervista a Steven Oritt e Zuzanna Surowy su My Name Is Sara
Trascrizione
01:47Do you like history? Do you think it's important to study history?
01:53Yes, I think it's really important to know what happened, how your country, your culture
02:05was made. It's really important to know that and I'm really happy that people are learning
02:15and telling that stories because it's a little bit warning to the future, like we don't want
02:24to live like that and see what happened and that can happen again.
02:29Looking at social media today I feel that technology evolved, we evolved but not our mindset.
02:38Back at the time where the Jews now are migrants, I think that if a third right would rise today
02:48maybe many people would betray their neighbors. So how can we change our mindset?
02:56Because social media don't help us, we have to change.
03:03That's a very difficult question for me to answer.
03:09I am inspired by people with open minds and I want to be around people that have open minds
03:18and work with people that have open minds and raise children that have open minds and are empathetic.
03:26And I think that in our world today unfortunately people are less and less empathetic.
03:34They're thinking about the real person across from you. And a lot of that has to do with social media.
03:41It's wonderful but it's also dangerous in some respects. So I guess does that answer your question enough?
03:51It's a really hard question because we are all into social media and we are so focused on that, on
04:03what they are showing us.
04:06We take that in 100%, we don't even think about if that's true or if that's good for us.
04:15You were both speaking about survival. I can't compare this time to that time but we are facing a crisis
04:28too.
04:28And how do you think that survival is possible? Is it just luck or maybe there's a mindset that can
04:38grow our chances to survive, to respond to crisis?
04:46I'll take that first so you can think about your answer.
04:50Well, I remember when I spoke with Sarah, she would always point out that she was lucky.
05:01So I think part of it has to do with luck, certainly, because it's random.
05:07But it has to be based on a drive and a desire to live.
05:14And Sarah clearly had such a desire to live, to follow her mother's instructions of survival is their revenge, to
05:23carry on the family's legacy.
05:27She was thrust into the world with that and then, I think, created her own luck.
05:33So that's kind of how I feel about survival.
05:38I think it's mixed because the luck is very important.
05:42Because you have to be in the good place, in a good time to survive or in a bad time,
05:50in a bad place to not survive.
05:54But who you are, it's very important too, because if Sarah wasn't that strong, that direct and that determined, she
06:04won't survive.
06:05So it's really important to be lucky and who you are to survive.
06:12Speaking about making our own luck, what do you want to do next? Because this first movie was tough.
06:19So maybe something lighter, comedy, fantasy, what do you want to do?
06:23I'm not thinking in that category, like now I want to play comedian or funny.
06:30See what happened. I'm not thinking about that yet.
06:36Good luck. Thank you. Thank you so much.
06:39Thank you so much.
