00:00Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, conducted an inspection in the ongoing sidewalk rehabilitation along
00:08the Edsa Estrella section in Makati today.
00:11The new sidewalks are designed to be wider, PWD-friendly, and bike-friendly, specifically to better protect pedestrians who previously
00:19had to walk on the road shoulder due to a lack of space,
00:23covering sections from Edsa Estrella to Edsa Rojas Boulevard for both southbound and northbound lanes.
00:30The phase one of sidewalk rehabilitation is expected to be completed before July this year.
00:35The DPWH is also set to begin the bidding process for phase two of the project, which will extend up
00:41to the Edsa Monumenta section.
00:44Secretary Dizon stated, expressing hope that this new sidewalk design will serve as the standard not just for Edsa, but
00:51for all national roads.
