00:01.
00:02Gentlemen, there is a war raging right now with the Magisterium.
00:05Between those trying to keep us in ignorance
00:07and those willing to fight for truth and freedom.
00:11Who will stand with me?
00:15This kind of heresy is of the highest priority to the Magisterium.
00:18I need to know where he's going and what he intends to achieve.
00:23Bronco's packing up to leave.
00:24You're not leaving!
00:26I can't stay!
00:27The North is no place for a child.
00:31Myra, the Master has asked if I can find a place for you.
00:35And I want you as my assistant.
00:38You're an explorer too, just like my uncle.
00:40I can teach you to wield power, but you must let me mold you.
00:47We believe there is an organization that is stealing children
00:52and taking North.
00:56Sometimes, children can just...
01:00disappear.
01:04I promised to do everything I could to protect you from harm.
01:08This, it's an alethiometer.
01:10It is illegal unless approved by the Magisterium.
01:13What does it do?
01:15It tells you the truth.
01:19She has to make a journey.
01:22One which, I'm afraid, includes a great betrayal.
01:29It's hurting us!
01:34Lyra?
01:36Lyra!
01:36It's trying to warn me of something.
01:40I suspect it's trying to warn you of everything.
01:44He scores me.
01:45I can fight.
01:47I can fly.
01:49What question should we be asking you that we are not?
01:52The Magisterium have muscle.
01:55I would ask where I could obtain the services of an armored bear.
02:01Yorick Burnison.
02:06I'm ready to fight.
02:07These people need our help, Yorick.
02:09Let's go get them.
02:13How am I supposed to trust you where no one tells me the truth?
02:25It's time.
02:26I know.
