00:01Pronto, dobbiamo farlo oggi.
00:02Ma è Natale.
00:03Senti, vediamoci a mezzanotte, al solito posto.
00:07Che state combinando?
00:30E quindi, quando ho iniziato a cercare la storia e trovato, era irresistibile.
00:37Ci sono molte strane cose nel stesso posto che non avevano ragione per essere insieme, ma erano.
00:52The theft was done by two veterinarian students who were from this suburb of Mexico.
01:00And they weren't world class criminals or they weren't poor people, poor criminals trying to get rich.
01:11So all these things were really interesting and the journey that they took and where they ended up in Acapulco
01:17and all that.
01:18It was just like irresistible stuff.
01:21I was filming in this beautiful location, like a museum.
01:27It was a privilege. It was like an absolute dream.
01:31It's, I think, it's one of the finest museums in the world.
01:37It's, yeah, everyone who's been there was like taken aback.
01:42So it was the best thing about shooting a movie, like to...
01:48In prep, we went to the museum so many times and we rediscovered it and fell in love with it.
01:56And so, in a way, even though we're showing a theft, you know, it's really an homage to the museum
02:05and to its beauty.
02:06And, of course, we could only shoot outside.
02:11All the scenes that take place inside the halls were recreations that we made in a film set.
02:19But the exterior scenes that we shot in the museum and having the museum at night to ourselves was a
02:30privilege.
02:30Some directing choices and the use of music reminds me of some style, some old movies.
02:41Did you inspire some?
02:42Like which ones?
02:44Like Hitchcock, not by, not West, but something like that.
02:51Well, the music that we use in the...
02:54Some of the music was composed by Mexican, my composer Tomás Barreiro, whom I've worked with for many times.
03:02But the central theme is The Night of the Mayas by Silvestre Revueltas.
03:09It's a famous Mexican piece from the 40s or 30s, late 30s?
03:15No, 40s.
03:18And it's a piece that was written for a film originally.
03:22So it has all this weight and drama.
03:25And I think it was very important.
03:28I mean, it was very suiting for this film.
03:32E credi che li dovremmo restituire?
03:34Dopo tutto quello che abbiamo fatto?
