00:00I think as a child you're always drawing, coloring, and doing crafts, and that is totally normal and seems to
00:06be like what you do as a kid.
00:08And I think what the, kind of the weird tragedy is that when you become an adult, you grow up
00:14and lose that.
00:15You like stop creating, you stop just involving yourself in the joy of coloring and creation and stuff.
00:22And I just feel like I was lucky enough to never really lose that.
00:30The crossover between skateboarding, graffiti, surfing, maybe like punk, they always were do-it-yourself people.
00:36When you come from a culture that's made by kids for kids, you had to do it yourself because there
00:41was nobody else doing it.
00:42Other people, they figure out their ways to do it, but I have to do it through this.
00:46I have to paint this just for this.
00:51It's communication, like the simplest form.
00:54It doesn't have any of the gross trappings of the art world or anything.
00:57Like a kid's tag is a kid's tag.
00:59It's skateboarding, man.
01:01That's where all of this came from.
01:03It's attracted a lot of like heroin addicts and creative people, and a lot of creative heroin addicts.
01:09I have the right to be exactly who I am, unadulterated, and bring it to you raw, uncut.
01:14And I think like nerds are like the dispossessed.
01:19They sort of inherit the creative earth.
01:22To go from being like just a regular freak to being like a cool freak kind of, it's really nice.
01:26You can't tag me as a one thing or another.
01:30You can't tag almost anybody as just a painter, as just a photographer.
01:35We're just artists.
01:43You want to see something, you make it.
01:45I mean, first and foremost for yourself and your friends, I guess, you know.
01:49Okay, you made the game.
01:50Like, this is the game.
01:51Are you going to decide, like, you're playing the game or not playing the game?
01:54You know, freedom of the press is guaranteed to those who own one.
01:57I didn't even know how an art gallery ran, you know, or what.
02:00I didn't even really know that it sold art.
02:02And we were pretty stupid and great.
02:05You know, often we don't.
02:06That's kind of a whirlpool of inspiration.
02:09It's like all of such and I think, I like this.
02:12This is what I'm talking about.
