01:56What's it like then being away from the X-Files for six years,
02:00coming back and seeing all of the fans still here,
02:04dedicated and just as into it as they've always been?

02:08You know, I guess in the back of our minds we're all worried that they weren't there.
02:13So to see them here, you know, 10, 15 deep is pretty great.
02:19And are you glad that they focused on Mulder and Scully's relationship in this film?
02:24Is there another film that you would have wanted to make at this point?
02:26Oh, I don't know.
02:28I mean, I think this film achieves a lot as a thriller and as a romantic thriller in a way.
02:34So I can't imagine trying to hit more bases.
02:38It's very hard to do.
02:43When you guys were making the series, did you realize that all of us out here were sitting there
02:49just desperate for Mulder and Scully to get it on?
02:52Well, I knew, I mean, every time we would talk to anybody and do an interview,
02:55people would bring it up.
02:56But it never, you know, I have to honestly say at the time, I always thought, like, what is it?
03:03What are you talking about?
03:04Why is this so important to you?
03:05And it wasn't until we actually started working on the film
03:09and somebody had sent some clips of, like, some edited together clips of the two of us on YouTube.
03:15And I kind of got it for the first time.
03:17It was kind of like, you know, there really is something there
03:19and it's really tangible and sexy and I can completely understand why they want it.
03:24But at the same time, I completely understood why we didn't give it to them
03:29because if they got it, then it would have been disappointing and, you know.
03:33From the announcement of the film last autumn to the premiere today,
03:37the whole X-Files experience has been one to remember.
03:40I've been lucky enough to meet some of the most interesting, intelligent
03:44and entertaining people around.
03:47And those are just the fans.
03:52Okay, I'm going to go in to see the film now.
03:55Remember, don't give up.
