00:07I got sent the script by my agent and she said that she felt that I was perfect for the
00:12character and I read it and I instantly fell in love with who Michael Kovac is and what he's about.
00:20I felt I knew the guy inside out and I did a taping then in my best friend Shane's, he's
00:28got a little studio in his backyard and he's a photographer and I played a band and the bass player
00:33came in, his nickname is Brush, he'll kill me for saying that, but he's got a big beard and he
00:38was reading Lisey's part back home and I sent it over thinking that nobody was ever going to watch it
00:45really.
00:45Just, you never know if people watch things or not and I guess I was lucky enough that they actually
00:51did.
00:53That it happened.
00:54Yeah, that it happened. I still can't quite believe it. This time last year I definitely couldn't imagine that I'd
01:00be sitting here, you know.
01:06I think I was curious about more than skeptical. I think once you jump in a project like this you
01:11have to do research, especially I was, as a journalist, you need to find a way how to get an
01:16answer.
01:16So I was very curious. I think it was very interested to know, you never get to the answer, is
01:24it real or not, is it true or not, but I think to raise the question and to push yourself
01:28on an answer, I think that's how I felt.
01:31Yeah, it's not something I ever thought about on a day to day basis, I guess. So when you begin
01:41to delve into it, you open, it opens your mind a little bit more, you know, when you read the
01:48theological books and you, you know, go see exorcisms and you speak to exorcists.
01:55You suddenly realize how very real it is for millions of people across the world, and not just in Catholicism,
02:02in every, in most religions, there's some form of exorcism. And then you, you kind of, then you think about
02:11it a lot. So.
02:13That's true. Yeah. Yeah. Every day.
02:19Yeah, there's a few things that happened to my character, happened to me in real life. So, after reading the
02:26script.
02:26A bit scary. Yeah, it was a bit weird. There's certain things that happened to quite a few people, like,
02:33there's a, there's a scene where there's an accident where Michael sees a crash in a guy off a motorbike
02:40in Rome.
02:43And I was stranded in Rome, really stranded in Rome. And as I was driving to the airport, I saw
02:50a guy on a motorbike get hit by a car right beside me, which is really weird.
02:55And it was only maybe a hundred yards from the exact spot where we filmed it. And then a few
03:01weeks later, and there's a couple of other bits and pieces.
03:04I don't want to go into it because it would ruin the film, but, yeah, there's a couple of bits
03:09and pieces that happened. Yeah, it freaked me out a little bit.
03:15It's a great human being as a, as a man, as a human, as a person. Yeah. He's phenomenal, generous,
03:20kind, and, and adorable, but acting.
03:24So, it's, it's, it's just an incredible experience to watch somebody who is, you know, one of the most gifted
03:32actors, I, I believe, of all time, to, to do what they do so well.
03:37You can't help but be inspired by it day to day. And, I mean, it's incredible.
