00:02We're on stage 7. It's the gimbal set for the various bridges of the destroyers we're going to use.
00:08This bridge set covers three different destroyers, the Japanese destroyer, Stones, and Hopper's destroyers.
00:14And this is the electronic part. Electronic controls are the heart of the system.
00:18All of this runs, the big hydraulic cylinders, this mimics the motion of that.
00:22Whatever you make this do, that will follow it automatically.
00:25And then we can manipulate the set any way the director wants us to.
00:28Let's go, let's do it.
00:29We could do hard left to rights, rocking the ship as if it was being rocked by an explosion.
00:35Clear the bridge! Clear the bridge!
00:38Great cut.
00:39We shot the sea work first, and the seas weren't that high.
00:43But we pretended the seas were high.
00:45A few people had to leave the boat, but that was just for fun.
00:48Then after that, we took it down to what the scene required, and just about everybody acclimated fine for it.
00:53On most of the scenes, it's extremely subtle, and it's used strictly to give a little instability,
00:57so the actors have a little more feeling for what's going on.
01:00All set.
01:02And three, two, one, go!
01:05Go!
01:06Go!
01:06Go!
01:06Go!
01:06Go!
01:07Go!
01:08Go!
