00:00I mean, I do want to circle back to that priest scene.
00:02What was the kind of process of balancing it tonally?
00:05Yeah, I think that that that kind of feeling of your feet not touching the ground and the humor, but
00:12then, you know, making you laugh, but then punishing you for laughing was was always kind of a part of
00:18the scene.
00:19And it emerged pretty early on for us and became kind of a pretty good tonal sort of barometer, actually,
00:25for the overall film.
00:26And that it explores, obviously, like you realize more and more how genuinely bleak and and just terrible the thing
00:36is that he's that he's recounting to to Jem and what it what it implies in, you know, in his
00:42history and their shared history.
00:44But it's but it's done in this in this way where you don't you're never quite sure where where you
00:51lie, like tonally with the with the character, with with the film.
00:54But then also like with with the character in terms of the dynamic between Jem and Ray, like there's this
00:59kind of constant volatility where the which is also where the silence has come into play, where there's this constantly
01:05kind of shifting power dynamic and they vault between kind of laughter and wanting to kill each other, like within
01:12within seconds.
01:13And I thought I thought I thought that was something that was very true also to just like the brotherhood
01:17experience.
