Gold medalist Alysa Liu says she came to the realization she was born through donor eggs and surrogacy on her own. Her parents didn’t tell her or her siblings. "We didn’t know about it for a long time. I actually figured it out," she tells Rolling Stone.

00:12Yeah, I mean, we didn't know about it for a long time.
00:15I actually figured it out because, I don't know, I was like, because our mom is full Chinese too.
00:20I was kind of like, oh, I totally don't look full Chinese.
00:23Like, there's something up.
00:24And then I was like, and my mom's really old.
00:27Like, there's no way she gave birth, gave birth to me.
00:31But so, like, I kind of put two and two together.
00:33Yeah, I mean, it hasn't affected our family at all.
00:36We're just kind of like, sure, it is what it is.
