00:26The Sandigan Bayan 6th Division denied the petition for bail filed by nine officials of DPWH Mimarapa
00:32in connection with a malversation case over allegedly substandard flood control project in Nauhan Oriental, Mindoro.
00:39Former Acobical Representative Saldico is also a co-accused in the case, who remains at large.
00:44In a 41-page resolution, the court said the prosecution was able to establish that the evidence against the accused
00:50is strong.
00:51Because of this, the court denied the bail petition of the accused.
00:54The court emphasized that this is not a prejudgment of the accused, but only a determination of the weight of
00:59the evidence in relation to the petition for bail.
01:02The decision followed the hearings conducted on the bail petition which started in January and concluded in February.
01:07Among those who testified during the hearings were DPWH Secretary Vince Dyson and Oriental, Mindoro, Governor Bons Dolor.
01:13Before the resolution on the bail petition was released, the trial proper on the case had already proceeded.
01:19Former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo is also expected to testify in the case.
