00:05An incredibile piece of technology.
00:0720 anni fa, una craft di questo avvanzo
00:09sarebbe un'imaginele.
00:11Ma so sarebbe l'idea di extraterrestrials
00:13attaccare la nostra planet,
00:15per la maniera di maniera a la brinca di extinction.
00:17Asi nello il 20th anniversario di la città di la victoria del mondo,
00:20noi celebriamo i heroi di la guerra del 96.
00:27Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today.
00:32We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.
00:35President Whitmore's words united us as a species
00:38and will reverberate in our hearts forever.
00:41We're going to live on.
00:43We're going to survive.
00:45Today, we celebrate our Independence Day.
00:50Though our world had been reduced to ash and rubble,
00:54from those ashes would rise a new age
00:56of growth, technology, and above all, unity.
01:01In 1998, leaders from the nations of the world
01:04joined together to establish a global peace alliance,
01:07putting to rest centuries-old conflicts and political distrust.
01:11The newly united nations would go on to form
01:14the United Global Defense Unit
01:15dedicated to the protection of the Earth against future threats.
01:25David Levinson is today the director of the Earth-Space Defense.
01:30So many people were lost.
01:31As we know, it was a horrible event
01:33in which much of the world suffered,
01:36and that's what's brought us together.
01:41ESD has been an international, collaborative, grand effort,
01:45and our main goal, of course, is to keep us safe.
01:49And I've taken a leadership role
01:50in developing many aspects of this defense system.
01:54As you know, it's taken a huge effort
01:56to get a big military base on the moon
01:59and these orbiting units,
02:01which have a big punch to them.
02:04Twenty years ago, these weapons,
02:06like the Alien City Destroyer cannon,
02:08were used against us with devastating results.
02:11Today, we're utilizing them to protect Earth.
02:14As we got samples of their more powerful technology
02:18and as much else as we could,
02:20we could enhance our current arsenal
02:24and then figure out how we could use space defensively
02:27if we had to encounter somebody from afar.
02:31But let's not forget,
02:33behind all of that hybrid technology
02:34is the force of a united military.
02:37One common enemy gave rise to the human spirit.
02:41Side by side, millions gathered from around the globe
02:44to join the ESD.
02:46Throne up as the son of a legend,
02:48your path is pretty much set.
02:49Becoming anything other than the best fighter pilot
02:51was out of the question.
02:52I know he'd be proud of what we're doing here.
02:55We come from all over the world with one goal,
02:57be the best fighter pilots in space.
02:59It's a privilege to represent my country, China,
03:02and to honor my parents' memory.
03:04After the attacks in 96,
03:05there really was no room for feeling sorry for yourself.
03:08You all lost someone we loved,
03:10you just did what you had to do to get over it.
03:12Now, I don't want them to come back,
03:13but if they do,
03:14I'd feel pretty good about getting one of these fighters
03:16and blowing them out of the sky.
03:19The hybrid fighter is truly a marvel
03:21of modern-day engineering.
03:22After successfully identifying anti-gravity devices
03:25on the alien spacecraft,
03:27the ESD was able to use this new technology
03:29to create a superior fighter jet.
03:32It's unclear as to whether ex-president Whitmore
03:35will attend the 20th anniversary event this year,
03:37but let's not forget the tireless warning
03:39that he repeated in nearly every speech after 96.
03:42It's not a matter of if the aliens return,
03:45it's a matter of when.
03:46It's not a matter of if the aliens return,
03:55it's not a matter of if the aliens return,
04:08so yeah,
04:10they are coming back.
04:12I'm sure they are coming next.
