02:49No matter how beloved the character is
02:53He's not safe or she's not safe
02:55It's a dangerous dangerous world
02:57And that's why Kirkman talks about in the graphic novel
03:01why he had killed all these characters
03:03And he has said
03:04He really wanted the audience to be aware at all times
03:09And never forget that it's a dangerous world
03:11And never forget that it's a dangerous world that we're living in
03:19Yeah being a reader of the comic graphic novel after I was brought on the show
03:25So I noticed there were some major differences that the show was doing
03:28So I've been doing
03:31I've been fortunate
03:32I've been working as an actor a very long time
03:36I can see very clearly and very quickly
03:38that the TV show did not follow the graphic novel so far as the specifics
03:44Generally speaking yes
03:45The sort of the geographical road map of the graphic novel was being followed
03:52But not necessarily the specifics of it with the characters
03:54We have characters that are still alive in the show
03:56that are dead in the graphic novel and vice versa
04:00So I knew it would be different potentially
04:03So I'm not surprised that he's still around
04:05I would not have been surprised if he took the arrow to the head
04:09So it's
04:11I'm very fortunate to be on the show
04:13And you know I think what it does is
04:15not knowing when your demise is going to come
04:18I think keeps you focused on telling the stories the best that you can
04:22And you know really does put an immediacy to the storytelling
04:25So as an actor you're always very present
04:27You never take anything for granted
04:29Which I think is better for the show
04:33Come on
04:35Just once
04:44The work that we do is very very intense
04:47Story wise
04:48But in between it's very light
04:50I think that's how we sort of keep our sanity
04:53But everyone's very very professional
04:55So there are days when that are more fun than others
04:58But there's sort of a ridiculousness that comes with
05:02You know we're out in the middle of Georgia
05:04You know with zombies
05:06And you know the 110 degrees Fahrenheit heat
05:09And all the humidity
05:10And you kind of look around
05:13And you know the show where it fits in society
05:16And the fandom and the success that it's had
05:18And you look at what it takes to do it
05:20And sometimes it just strikes you how ridiculous it is
05:24And you can't you know help but sort of laugh
05:26And have a great time doing it
05:29But at the same time we're dealing with very very heavy subject matter
05:32There are not a lot of pranks on set
05:34You know there's no time for that
05:36But there is a lot of levity
05:38There's a lot of light moments
05:40And that just comes from sharing intense
05:43You know times intense moments with people you love
05:48When we talk about the family atmosphere
05:52It's not just the cast
05:54It's the crew
05:55It's everybody involved in producing the show
05:58It's a really really good time
06:05Oh I think it's fantastic
06:06I think that if you're a fan of the graphic novel
06:08Nothing is ruined for you
06:10I think it's enhanced
06:11You know I think there are secret little things that we put in there
06:14For people who read the graphic novel
06:16There are images
06:16There are some images that are lifted directly from the pages of the graphic novel
06:19And you wouldn't know that unless you read the novels
06:22The entrance of Abraham and his army
06:24Is the exact color cover from the comic
06:27Now if you know that from the comic that's something extra for you
06:30But if you don't know it there's nothing missing
06:32You don't say I don't know what that means
06:34It doesn't mean anything
06:36But if you know you know
06:38And the whole ramp up to Negan coming in
06:42Everybody talking about Negan, Negan, Negan
06:43Who's Negan, who's Negan
06:44Well if you read the graphic novel you know who Negan is
06:47So it's much more loaded for you
06:50But it doesn't take anything away
06:51Because we're showing all these things that Negan has done up until that point
06:55So I think there's a lot of shared emotion to be had by knowing both worlds
07:05But I don't think you lose anything by not knowing
07:08And I think that's what they've done
07:09Because you can read
07:11Either read the graphic novel or watch the series
07:14And still know exactly what's going on in both
07:16But if you read both
07:17One informs the other
07:19So it's pretty exciting
07:28Yeah I think the guys who play the walkers
07:32And our transportation department are the unsung heroes
07:36They are in before everybody
07:38And they're the last people out
07:41It's a very thankless job in a lot of ways
07:46Because sometimes you get to be featured
07:49The featured walker that does a really great kill
07:51And people know who that zombie or walker is
07:55But for the most part
07:56These are a bunch of actors
07:59And people who come onto the show
08:04Who contribute greatly daily
08:08And it's a terrible job in a lot of ways
08:12You're covered in latex
08:13You're in the heat
08:14You're sweating
08:15It's long, long days
08:17You get beat up by the actors
08:20And then no one knows who you are
08:23Because you're covered in a ton of makeup
08:25So they do a fantastic job
08:29And if they weren't doing what they were doing
08:32The show would not be what it is today
08:42But now you're not getting paid
08:42And if they start playing
08:42So you can recognize
08:42And I'm not getting joking
08:42But I don't want things
