00:00Mohan and Orlando Diaz, that story kind of takes on a new tenor where he's
00:04trying to leave the hospital despite the treatment that your character wants to
00:08help out with. Can you take these out? No, it takes 48 hours for you to get out of
00:11DKA. Your blood is still full of acid. Look, I can add thousands of dollars to
00:15the hundred grand I already owe. I'm sorry, a hundred grand? Medical debt. My wife
00:20doesn't even know. I'll never be able to pay it off as it is. Can you talk to me
00:23how important it's been to sort of portray how lack of insurance can lead
00:27to even more problems in health care? Yeah, I mean it's actually something I
00:31pitched in between seasons to the show and it ended up taking on such a like so
00:35much of a bigger arc for for so many characters but I think especially mine.
00:40I mean I talked to Scott and I just said I think this is something I'm really
00:43passionate about and at the time I think it's something they were already
00:46thinking about. Felt like this would be a storyline that's great for for Samira.
00:50I think so many people in this country really struggle with with what health
00:54insurance has become and I mean always is in some ways but I think especially
00:57now there's so many people in our country that are uninsured that that just fall
01:01between the cracks the system just isn't really working and it I think Samira
01:06is a great character to really tell that story.
