00:22to Los Angeles.

00:27of Freddie Mercury.
00:33He came in and I was like, whoa, this is
00:35Freddie. And he wasn't just acting.
00:37It was something that came natural to him.

00:45You got mud on your face, you big
00:47disgrace, kicking your can
00:50all over the place.

00:55When you set out to play Freddie Mercury you think
00:57how am I ever going to fill those shoes?
00:59It's an immense responsibility
01:01but one that I was very eager
01:03to take on.
01:07So this is Queen
01:09and you must be
01:11Freddie Mercury.
01:12You've got a gift.
01:14You don't want to mimic Freddie.
01:16You want to be able to understand
01:18why he did what he did.
01:23I had some
01:24top choreographers come
01:26in and realize choreographer
01:28is not going to help me.
01:29I needed a movement coach.
01:32I spent a lot of time
01:33with Rami trying to work out
01:35little mannerism tricks.
01:38Every eye look.
01:40Every turn.
01:41Every flick of the microphone.
01:46Rami has just disappeared
01:47entirely.
01:49The way he moves and talks
01:51is so Freddie that it's completely
01:53magical.

02:03practicing Freddie's moves.
02:06But also he's found
02:08a real humanity
02:09to this character that I don't think
02:11many people see.

02:19with heels that were four inch
02:21platform.
02:23Tightest fitting.
02:25Satin pants.
02:26An entire lycra outfit.
02:30When you dress as Freddie does
02:33it makes every day feel like
02:34it's going to be a good time.
