00:00Lashing out at desperate migrant workers seeking relief or assistance even when there is nothing to extend or hand out
00:06excuses.
00:07No one, not even an officer of the Department of Migrant Workers.
00:10A scene that played out and was captured on video in a Bahrain DMW office which turned the president off
00:17upon sight of the footages.
00:19Our Kenneth Paschente has the details on this case of miscoordination in this report.
00:26This video is now viral on social media.
00:30Where several overseas Filipino workers can be seen outside the Migrant Workers' Office or MWO in Bahrain.
00:36They were supposedly seeking help but were allegedly scolded and ordered to leave by an employee of the office identified
00:43as Anthony Alermo.
00:45He explained there were no more funds.
00:58This incident did not sit well with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. according to Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro.
01:05She said, there is no place for arrogance and abuse of power among officials.
01:10That is why the President immediately ordered an investigation into the incident.
01:43The Palace also pointed out that the President's directive to concern government agencies is clear.
01:48Filipinos abroad must be assisted, especially OFWs who are caught in the tension in the Middle East.
02:13In a program on Radyo Pilipinas, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Kakdak said Alermo's actions were unacceptable
02:20and apologized to the OFWs for such conduct.
02:23At the same time, the Secretary clarified that there are funds for OFWs.
02:28He said it was only miscommunication that marred the distribution of assistance.
02:32Pondo, isa pa yan sa pagkakamali. On so many levels, ang daming pagkakamali kahit anong anggulo.
02:50So, dinisperse. Kasi nga, nagiging assembly na on the team.
03:02Still, Kakdak said that the employee of the MWO in Bahrain should have responded more calmly.
03:08For now, the employee will return to the Philippines while the investigation continues.
03:12And Kakdak said he will ensure that administrative charges are filed if warranted.
