00:00I was preparing for the UPSC. So my UPSC mains were November month of year 2000
00:06and the CAT was scheduled on December 9th or 11th. So I hardly had a month to
00:11prepare. I joined a test series so that I may just know where I stand with
00:16respect to others and I was never one of the toppers there. Not much
00:20inclination either. So came the D-Day, we wrote the exam and the pattern had
00:26changed that year. I thought I have not done very well and just emerged from the
00:32center and there I found the others almost sobbing, long faced, inconsolable. I
00:41asked what has happened and these were the ones who were scoring 140-150 at the
00:46time of the mock tests. There was hardly anyone there who had reached even triple
00:51digits. 80s, 90s, maximum 105. It was then that I came to know that the pattern had
00:59changed. The questions were much more difficult than the previous years. I was
01:04not comparing and that was unintended. You don't beat the competition by
01:09continuously wasting your energy on surveillance. How is this one doing? How
01:14is that one doing? This is not the way of authenticity or commitment. Do what you
01:20have to do and the results. Let them show up on their own and then even if the
01:25results are not what the world demands of you, you won't be disappointed. Why?
01:31Because you anyway had a good time. You are doing what you love to do.
