00:48to His Highness and Mr. Sunny Varki who is the founder of Varki Foundation for choosing an Indian daughter for
00:55GEMS Global Teacher Prize 2026.
00:57It is truly an honour and as I said earlier when I won the prize that I dedicate this prize
01:03to all the children.
01:05Jammu Kashmir is the same as a student in Mumbai.
01:10That is why the students who are given to the students and the students who are given to the students
01:18and the students who are given to the students.
01:22During my initial day's art workshops, you know I still get emotional, my heart gets emotional when I say this,
01:33that you know while giving stationery and art material to children when one child said that he had not seen
01:40a pencil, he didn't know what that is.
01:43And I first thought that he was joking but then when I realised after saying for the third or fourth
01:48time, I was like no he is serious and I sat there, I told him what that pencil is and
01:54what you do with it.
01:56And you know I came back home, I couldn't sleep for many days, over a month, I told my husband,
02:01I said, just to test him, I said, have you met a child who has not seen a pencil?
02:05He said, oh come on, what's wrong with you? No, obviously not. I said, see your instant reaction is no.
02:11But I met a child today who had not seen a pencil.
02:14He said, really? And then he said, it's okay, you know, don't feel bad. I said, no, there's no feeling
02:19bad. Now, I want, we are too blessed with everything God has given us, enough to survive and we work
02:26hard.
02:26But I want to make sure that in my circle, kids that I come across, I pray to God that
02:34I never meet a child again who has not seen a pencil.
02:54I have already decided that I am going to open new skills centers and learning centers in Kashmir, few in
03:03Maharashtra, few in Rajasthan.
03:05So I am going to divide the price money into reaching out to more and more people, but in remoter
03:11area.
03:12They are paying for $100 million.
03:49This is the price of the price.
03:49One pencil.
03:51This is a global teacher.
