00:00Happy 2026 space fans! We're headed all the way to Alaska for our space photo of today.
00:05As the building you're looking at is the LRDR, or Long-Range Discrimination Radar,
00:10and it's a base in Alaska that has recently been taken over by the U.S. Space Force.
00:15Now, LRDR is really unique for missile defense-like systems and integration because it's supposed to
00:20discriminate things better than other radar systems, hence the discrimination in its name.
00:25And this discrimination is really helpful because it can help determine whether something is, say,
00:30a nuclear warhead or just debris. Read more on our website about LRDR, the U.S. Space Force,
00:36and other cool news stories happening in the world of space.
