00:01The morning after Fountain of Youth Saturday, we stopped in at Bill Mott's base at Payson Park to watch Sovereignty
00:06breeze
00:07and check in with Mott about a few of his latest stable stars.
00:11We had a nice work today with Sovereignty. He was in company and I think the official clockers had him
00:17in 49-3 or 49-4.
00:20Went along very nicely, finished up well enough and had a useful gallop out.
00:27His work was just, I guess you could only call it workmanlike.
00:32He's not a spectacular workhorse unless you ask him for it.
00:37I mean, he'll do whatever you want him to do but he was just doing that on his own today
00:41and that's really what I expected and what I wanted.
00:45The first race that comes up that would be on the schedule for him that we're considering is probably the
00:50Oaklawn Handicap.
00:51And I think there's, you know, if all goes well there's a very good possibility we could give that a
00:56try.
00:59Knightsbridge came back good after his run yesterday. He was very impressive.
01:05I thought he, you know, he looked dominant in that field.
01:09We feel like we've got a little momentum and he's been coming out of those races good.
01:13So maybe he's ready for, you know, the stiffer tests.
01:17The race at Churchill Downs would be a possibility going seven furlongs and then of course the Met Mile.
01:24Speaker's Corner was very good at a flat mile and this horse has proven he's very good at a flat
01:30mile.
01:30You know, slightly different body type but this horse is a gorgeous horse.
01:36He's well muscled but yet very balanced and of course that helps him do what he does best and that's
01:45run.
01:46It was nice to be considered for Baeza but I wish I wasn't the trainer of him right now.
01:52I wish John Sheriffs was the trainer but, you know, I'd rather have John have him and be competing against
01:58him rather than in this way.
02:01We've got one Breeze in him and he's a gorgeous horse.
02:06Very well balanced, nice horse, nice mover.
02:09He could potentially go in the Alisheba.
02:13I know the Oaklawn Handicap was a consideration for the connections.
02:17We've got a ways to go to get him ready.
02:19Chief Wallaby to the outside. Commandment with the momentum.
02:22Chief Wallaby makes him earn it. Commandment, Chief Wallaby.
02:26Commandment wins the Fountain of View.
02:27I'm thrilled with the race that he ran.
02:31Disappointed that we got beat, you know, by a head or a neck.
02:37But I was very pleased with the effort and the horse.
02:39For him to run that well off of having just one one-turn race
02:45and then come back and beat some of the horses in that race and be so close to the winner.
02:52He ran more or less a winning race.
02:55Lost a little bit of ground around the last turn but put in a very nice run.
03:01And we'll see how he's doing.
03:03And, you know, he's run well at Gulfstream.
03:06We'll have a look at the Florida Derby with him.
03:09We'll sort it out with the owners and see what their wishes are and see if we can't come up
03:15with a plan.
