Kemi Badenoch says that a Conservative government would have had HMS Dragon "out in the Mediterannean weeks ago", The Tories have criticised Labour for delays in deploying the warship to defend RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus, with the warship still docked at Portsmouth Harbour. 00:00Defence spending reduced every year from 1989 to 2022 under governments of all colours, including Labour and the Liberal Democrats.

00:08But the fact is, in 2022, Conservatives increased defence spending.

00:12We were able to support Ukraine in a war when Russia invaded them.

00:16If Conservatives were in charge now, we would be able to support the US, Israel and our allies like Bahrain

00:23and Cyprus against the regime in Tehran.

00:25The thing that we can see right now is HMS Dragon sitting in Portsmouth, doing nothing.

00:32That is what a Labour government is delivering.
