Behind the True Story takes you behind the scenes of Vince Dixon's 'Sometimes I Imagine Your Funeral', a short film based on Vince and his real-life experience of losing his sister Lauren to an overdose. Crowdfunded by his community and the addiction recovery networks, Vince was able to bring together a team of Los Angeles-based and Indianapolis-based creatives to film in his home community of central Indiana. The short film follows Max as he processes how to eulogize his sister Chloe, an experience that mirrors Vince’s own. This documentary is a behind-the-scenes look at the multi-day filmmaking process of the film and is a tribute to the real-life friends and family who helped Vince create this awareness film

00:00A filmmaker from Fishers coming back home from L.A.
00:04To film, sometimes I imagine your funeral.
00:07It's based on his personal experience.
00:09He hopes it will be a conversation starter about addiction.
00:12It's so special to me to connect the real authentic emotion that I have felt in this space to the
00:18film.
00:18And I really think it's going to show in the DNA of the final product.
00:21You're going to see some negative moments, some positive moments,
00:24and I feel like everyone's going to find a moment they relate to.
00:27I'm still basing it in the truth and the reality of the events,
00:31but also taking it into regard that these are fictionalized versions of Vince and his sister and his family.
00:37These are scenes that are based on my real life.
00:39These are things that have happened to me with my sister Lauren.
00:41I'm able to kind of step aside emotionally and just view it as,
00:44what are these scenes, how are they playing out,
00:46and I'm really happy with what I've seen so far.
00:57I'm really happy with that.
