Should tipping be expected in the UK - or should it always be optional? Do you feel pressured to pay a service charge when its added to the bill, or do you ask to have it removed?

00:00If you can afford to...
00:02Some people can't, can they?
00:04You know, they may go home for a nice house
00:05and they can't afford to.
00:07The option should be, if your work is treated,
00:10you are right, and this, the, and the other,
00:12fair enough, and that, like, and that.
00:14The same old thing, the cost of living is so high,
00:17people can't afford to take,
00:19which is a sad thing,
00:20but if you've been treated well, you always do,
00:23even if it's only a pound.
00:24I've just been to Prague, I've just come back,
00:26and virtually everything that I had,
00:28they have it on the machines to tip, if you want to.
00:33I do think tipping should be expected
00:35if somebody has provided you with a service.
00:38I do appreciate people have got mixed reviews
00:40on service charge and whether it's discretionary,
00:44but I do like to tip,
00:45and I think tip your service workers, they deserve it.
00:48You get all this, that other people
00:50that have been really lovely,
00:51they've, like, done the well for you,
00:53and you want to give that extra bit of,
00:55very much, you've really made my day, type of thing.
00:58Thanks, I...
