00:00The Airpolls are pleased to work in collaboration with the Sutherland Shire Council for the installation of five shark bite
00:08kits along the Kernel Peninsula.
00:10The premise of it, these kits, is for the community to be able to provide assistance ahead of any emergency
00:17services that are responding to an incident out here at Kernel.
00:21Now the kits include a tourniquet, pressure bandages, emergency whistle, space blankets. They can all be used in the event
00:31of an emergency.
00:33And we're really grateful to Ampol for helping to fund these. Council will also be installing some on our own
00:39vehicles and looking at locations up and down the river or on the beaches where we might be able to
00:44install some additional ones.
00:45But it's really important to remember that this does not replace emergency services as our primary response. This is to
00:51help you bridge that gap in the unlikely event of a shark attack.
00:54So you can pop open the lid here, use the kits to stabilize somebody until help can arrive.
