00:17The government says that it has intercepted 14 ballistic missiles and four drones. Kuwait has declared just about an hour
00:26ago that it was coming under attack. And then we have seen also attacks in Bahrain and the UAE. So
00:34certainly a heightened sense of insecurity along the region today.
00:39That was happening while the foreign ministers of the GCC were meeting by video link with the EU. I mean,
00:47it was a show of solidarity, a show of unity. They were saying in the final communique that the EU
00:57stands with the GCC.
00:59But I think also that it will help the GCC. And I think that's the most important word of that
01:04entire communique. Behind closed doors, the conversation was probably very much around military tactics, military hardware, and probably about interceptors.
01:16Because that is the big conversation, because that is the big conversation, probably trying to figure out how much offensive
01:24capability does Iran have versus the defensive capability of the GCC and who would run out first.
01:31The U.S. The U.S. cannot provide its defense interceptors for the entire region. Patriot missiles take a long
01:41time to be manufactured. And it is said by an analyst told me that the U.S. can only manufacture
01:4951 of those every month.
01:51And they have to share that between Iraq, Israel, its own assets here in the region and the GCC country.
01:59So the GCC is probably now looking towards France. It's looking towards other countries to try to figure out what
02:06they can provide and how quickly they can do that.
