00:00Now it's a sit down with Katrina Balfe and Sam Heughan. Hey, you two.
00:04The eighth and final season of Outlander drops March 6th and we are in our feels.
00:09You should all go back. This is my home. What can fans anticipate for this final season?
00:15I think a lot of reunions, new locations. Sort of stories or storylines that are perhaps revealed or
00:26or tied up. Yes. Are you satisfied with this final season?
00:34I don't think you could ever be satisfied. I honestly think you couldn't because we haven't
00:39done all the books. We came back to do the season to give an ending that was satisfactory or tied
00:44up
00:45some things. It felt like the end of season seven, I certainly felt I wasn't ready to walk away.
00:54I still had an itch to scratch and I think the fans would have felt that as well.
01:00But it's hard. How do you tie up something like this?
01:04Thinking back to season one and the journey you both have been on since then,
01:08what has changed the most?
01:09I mean, it's over a decade. My life's completely changed.
01:15I'm a mom. I have to navigate working with also, you know, raising a child and, you know,
01:25the kind of difference that is.
01:28It's changed our lives completely, hasn't it?
01:30I mean, from where we were in our careers to the opportunity has given us to, I guess,
01:35even like the experience, you know, it's like going and doing other jobs now or, you know, doing
01:40press or anything. It's like, oh, we know we've done this before now.
01:45So it's given us a great deal. I feel very lucky. It's really changed my life for sure.
01:51Has it sunken yet that you won't be reuniting with each other every day?
01:54I think we've actually sort of found a way of like seeing more of each other.
02:01Yeah, probably. Yeah.
02:02Yeah.
02:03I think our friendship is now kind of, I don't know, there's like maybe you take it for granted
02:07because you are seeing each other all the time. So then you don't make the effort to see each other
02:11outside of work as much. Now we have and we do and I value this man.
02:16Exactly. Likewise. And it's actually for all the cast as well, it's been so nice.
02:21Like just seeing them more occasionally meet up or groups of us.
02:25But there's normally quite a few of us and it's so nice.
02:27And there's a great rapport and a great camaraderie there.
02:31And yeah, I mean, we're all still really close.
02:33And like, it's funny, we had this walk before we started filming in Hyde Park.
02:38Yeah.
02:38And we said at that time, look, we don't know what this is going to be, but like,
02:41no one else is going to have the same experience as you and I are going to have.
02:45And I think that that bond will sustain us for the rest of our lives.
02:50And finally, now that it's really over, do you have closure?
02:54I think we all sort of went and did something right after, you know,
02:59I went off and did a retreat and you went and climbed the Himalaya.
03:03Sophie went to Africa, Richard learned how to fly.
03:06So I think we all sort of had that initial escape or, yeah.
03:13I wouldn't say exorcist, but you know, like it's that thing of like releasing it.
03:18But I wanted to process it and I wanted to honor the experience
03:21and the character by letting it go in sort of a healthy way.
03:24It's like, I don't know, like a, I don't know, a good memory or an old friend or something.
03:30It's like, I've definitely now separated myself from it.
03:33But it's lovely to be able to come back and, I don't know, like celebrate the show.
03:38And I think the finale is going to be, you know, the final season coming out,
03:42it's going to be so fun to celebrate with fans.
