A short burst of spring warmth could push temperatures close to nineteen degrees in some areas before cooler, wetter conditions return. Experts also warn the warmer weather may release more tree pollen.

00:00Forecasters say temperatures are set to reach the highest levels of the year so far, with
00:05some areas expected to reach as high as 19 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
00:10The brief spell of early spring warmth follows a run of cooler grey conditions and could
00:15surpass the previous 2026 high temperature, which was recorded in late February.
00:21The change is being driven by a southerly airflow drawing milder air from mainland Europe,
00:27combined with clearer skies allowing temperatures to rise quickly during the day.
00:33However, a weather front is expected to move across the UK, bringing cloud, rain and a noticeable
00:39drop in temperatures for many communities by the weekend.
