The government says the UK has turned a corner in the cost of living crisis and things are getting better. But is that how people are feeling on the streets of our region?

00:00I can't feel that it's getting better, I have to say, and I think we're very dependent on ultra-processed
00:08food, which costs so much, and we're told that that's what's in the shop, whereas it would be easier, better
00:18to cook from scratch.
00:20I work in a community centre in Hexham, and we have many people needing help with cost of living, and
00:26it might have plateaued a bit, but it's not getting any better.
00:33I think it's going to be worse, it's going to be more worse, you know, because in the UK, things
00:38have just gotten worse, you know, now it's been better day by day, so it's going to be worse.
00:43I don't think I'd say so, no. Yeah, I don't, yeah, I definitely don't see the change I took to
00:50a lot of people, so I would say at this point it's more getting used to it, as opposed to
00:56really getting better, but yeah, that's what I'd say.
