00:09Today we can announce that we have agreed to deepen our relationship across several
00:14areas. Building on our joint declaration of intent on critical minerals that we signed
00:20last year, we have agreed to increase collaboration on critical minerals through a range of measures,
00:26pursuing common positions on key critical minerals issues, increasing alignment between Australia's
00:33critical minerals strategic reserve and Canada's defence stockpiling regime and to be able to
00:40reciprocate the generous hospitality that I received at last year's G7 Summit. As long-standing partners
00:48and friends we have so much to build on our relationship and as middle powers in what is
00:54a complex world, we recognise that we can work together and with all partners to shape
00:59it for the better.
01:00For dinner, and Toto will be there as well, our little dog, so I hope that's okay.
01:08And now in a more uncertain, more divided world, Canada and Australia are middle powers charting
01:15our own course with confidence, ambition and partnership. We're doing that together because
01:22we've grown up together. And with an ocean between us, we may not see each other quite as much
01:29as we'd like, but whenever we do, like family, it feels like no time has passed.
01:35Well, we both, of course, Prime Minister can speak for himself, but I think the world wants to see
01:42a de-escalation and wants to see Iran cease to spread the destinations of its attacks. We're seeing
01:54Gulf states that have not been involved, attacked across the board.
02:03You've asked a fundamental hypothetical in a conflict that can spread very broadly. Today's events, recent events, point to that.
02:12So one can never categorically rule out participation. We will stand by our allies.
02:19Thank you very much.
02:26Can you go for it?
02:30Yes, of course.
02:32That's all.
03:02I know her family has been in Australia just recently and I wanted to pass on our condolences
03:09on that terrible loss. I hope they are all right.
03:13I brought your address to the Joint House this morning.
03:16Thank you for the very kind remarks about what does use it to welcome you here to Government House
03:21and I know it has been a very productive visit. We hope to see more of you in the years
03:25ahead.
03:25It was greatly enhanced by your presence in some of the discussions that we'll have today around this table.
03:32We share values. We share common interests as well.
03:37And other strategic areas such as critical minerals and financial services where we are quiet.
03:44And yes, a natural relationship. And I think a natural relationship partly because of your personality.
03:56We're both impacted by climate change and one of the one element of how we deal with ensuring cooperate across
04:06the whole sphere of economic defense.
04:10That's a very good point.
04:10So we start preparing for that.
04:10No, no, no, no, no.
