Paralympic flames brought together in Cortina d'Ampezzo

Cortina d'Ampezzo hosts the 'Union Ceremony' in Largo delle Poste on March 3, 2026, bringing together Paralympic Flames from multiple relay routes to form a single Paralympic Flame ahead of the opening of the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games on March 6. The flame was lit on Feb. 24 in Stoke Mandeville, widely regarded as the cradle of the Paralympic Movement, before travelling to Italy and visiting several cities. Flame festivals were held in the main squares of Turin, Milan, Bolzano and Trento, and concluded on Monday evening with an event in Trieste's Piazza Unita d'Italia. A transparent, geodesic structure was open during the day, offering visitors and students an immersive experience with photo areas and games stations.
