The 2026 Baseball Classic gets underway this week, with Taiwan taking on Australia at the tournament opener at the Tokyo Dome, vying for one of two quarterfinal places in a group that also contains Japan, South Korea and the Czech Republic.

00:54By the end of the first round in Japan, only two top countries in the group will make it

01:06Taiwan ranked 11th among the 20 countries competing in the tournament.
01:12On Wednesday, Taiwan's team and other national squads trained at Tokyo Dome to get a feel
01:17for the stadium and make any last-minute preparations.
01:20Not everyone can watch the games in person at the Tokyo Dome, so there will be fan gatherings
01:25across the Japanese capital and in Taiwan, with baseball fans glued to their actions.
