00:06We recently released Dev Diary 8, which focused on the general mechanics of multiplayer,
00:12especially how we wanted every player and friend group to pick their own flavor of team.
00:17One other really important aspect of multiplayer in Empire City is the open play spirit.
00:24We noticed that due to the intensity of embodied combat,
00:27players were far more focused on their own fight than what their friends were doing.
00:32Folks would tend to plan a bit, maybe gear up for an intended role to play in the group,
00:37but most of the time, group play evolved into a pure joy free-for-all.
00:42That said, it was pre-fight and post-fight where the real fun of multiplayer seemed to kick in.
00:49It's hard not to want to just goof around in VR when you're with your friends,
00:52so we put a bit more emphasis on turning Empire City into a hangout spot.
00:58A deep sense of place, some mini-games, and regenerative side activities keep things active,
01:03but never forced on you if you just want to hang.
01:07We're excited to see how people choose to interact in the world together,
01:10both inside and out of missions, and hopefully build upon your favorite parts over time.
