The United Arab Emirates has revealed the full scale of Iran’s retaliatory missile and drone campaign, disclosing that 186 ballistic missiles and more than 800 drones were launched toward the country since late February. According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, 172 ballistic missiles were intercepted, 13 fell into the sea, and one landed on Emirati soil. Officials also confirmed that 812 Iranian drones were detected, with 755 successfully shot down. Eight cruise missiles were also destroyed during the barrage.

The attacks resulted in three deaths and 68 minor injuries, with most damage caused by falling debris and interception blasts across parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The strikes were part of Iran’s broader regional retaliation targeting Gulf states hosting US military bases. The UAE has condemned the attacks as violations of sovereignty while emphasizing the effectiveness of its advanced air defense systems. As tensions escalate across West Asia, concerns are growing over a wider regional conflict.

00:17The United Arab Emirates has released its most detailed briefing yet on Iran's retaliatory
00:25missile and drone attacks. Speaking through Ministry of Defense spokesperson Major General
00:32Abdul Nasser al-Humaidi, the UAE provided updated cumulative figures covering strikes
00:39launched since late February following joint U.S.-Israel operations against Iran. According
00:47to the briefing, a total of 186 ballistic missiles were fired toward the UAE. Out of
00:55those, 172 were successfully intercepted and destroyed by UAE air defense systems. Thirteen
01:04missiles fell into the sea without causing damage. One ballistic missile entered UAE territory
01:11and landed on Emirati soil. Officials provided limited details but confirmed it was included
01:18in the overall casualty count. The scale of drone warfare was even larger. The UAE detected
01:26812 Iranian drones approaching its airspace. Of those, 755 were intercepted and destroyed.
01:35The remaining drones either fell harmlessly or contributed to minor impacts and injuries.
01:41Officials did not provide a precise breakdown in the latest update. In addition, 8 Iranian cruise
01:49missiles were detected and successfully destroyed, though some debris caused limited collateral
01:55damage. Despite the intensity of the attacks, casualties remained relatively contained. Three people were
02:03killed reported to be foreign nationals and 68 others sustained minor injuries. Most injuries were
02:11caused by falling debris, interception blasts, or small impact zones. Authorities described the overall
02:19physical damage as minor to moderate. Affected areas included parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with some
02:26residential zones experiencing debris falls and temporary fires. There were brief disruptions, including
02:34airspace closures and precautionary shutdowns. The Defense Ministry emphasized that the majority
02:40of explosions heard across cities were the result of successful interceptions by advanced air defense
02:47systems and fighter jets. These numbers represent cumulative totals from the start of Iran's retaliatory
02:55campaign around February 28 through early March 3. The attacks were part of a broader regional
03:03escalation, targeting Gulf states that host U.S. military bases, including the Al-Dafra Air Base in the UAE.
03:11Similar waves were reported across Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and other Gulf nations. The UAE strongly condemned
03:20the attacks as violations of its sovereignty and international law, but has so far focused publicly
03:27on defense and readiness rather than retaliation. As tensions continue to rise across West Asia, the scale of
03:36missile and drone warfare highlights the growing risk of a wider regional conflict, one that could draw in
03:43multiple states and reshape the security landscape of the Gulf. The situation remains fluid and new updates
03:51are expected as new waves of attacks are assessed.
