00:03With abundant resources and expanding industries, Uzbekistan is looking to grow
00:09exports and reach new markets abroad. Hello and welcome to Business Line Uzbekistan.
00:15The country has significant untapped export potential, driven by its strategic location,
00:22rich natural resources and expanding manufacturing and agricultural sectors.
00:27In 2025, the country's total export volume reached 28.37 billion euros.
00:35Exports to Europe increased by 23%, reaching 1.93 billion euros.
00:41Today, Uzbekistan exports a wide and diversified range of products.
00:45These include more than 300 types of food products, mainly legumes and flour, around 400 categories
00:53of chemical goods and nearly 300 kinds of finished textile products.
00:58Exports also include more than 180 types of metal products, as well as over 780 categories
01:06of machinery and equipment, including household appliances.
01:10Uzbekistan's main trading partners are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and South Korea.
01:16At the same time, exports to the United States, France, the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan
01:23are steadily increasing.
01:25Looking ahead, the country's 2030 strategy aims to increase the private sector's share
01:31of total exports to 60% and raise overall exports to approximately 33.7 billion euros, reflecting
01:40ongoing efforts to diversify trade and expand the country's global economic presence.
01:46Here is more.
01:48Sunferry, a leading home appliance manufacturer, is scaling up for international markets.
01:53Its clear refrigeration and cooling appliances benefit from 60 to 80% localization, producing
02:00500,000 units a year with 1,200 employees.
02:04It's focused on export growth.
02:06Currently, we export our products to our seven neighboring countries.
02:10In 2024, exports totaled 30,000 units with export value of 6 million USD.
02:15In 2025, exports reached 42,000 units with export value of 7.5 million USD.
02:22For 2026, we have an export target of 60,000 units with a value of estimated 12 million USD.
02:29This company's growth reflects a broader national trend.
02:33In 2017, Uzbekistan liberalized its currency regime, allowing experts full access to their foreign currency earnings.
02:53Exporters receive financial assistance to participate in international exhibitions.
02:59Up to 50% of overseas warehouse and trade house expenses can be covered.
03:04National pavilions are organized at major trade fairs, often free of charge for entrepreneurs.
03:18Export growth is not only expanding trade geography, it's reshaping Uzbekistan's economic structure.
03:24Before, several years ago, we are just exporting raw materials to reproduce them.
03:30But currently, we are just changing the system.
03:32Hope, we are just making final products and exporting them.
03:35The strategy now combines three elements.
03:38Industrial expansion, market diversification and sustainable development.
03:43Balancing rapid growth with long-term stability may define Uzbekistan's next export phase.
03:49Joining us now is Yunusbek Yusupov, head of division in the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.
03:56Mr. Yusupov, what new international markets is Uzbekistan aiming to enter?
04:02Thank you for the question.
04:04So, if we go to 2017, our exports were heavily concentrated inside US countries.
04:09But now, we are experts to the Middle East, European Union countries, African and American countries.
04:14This geographic diversification has been supported by a structural transformation of Uzbekistan export model.
04:20So, thanks to the GSP Plus, where we have free access for 6200 products in order to enter to the
04:29foreign markets.
04:30Moreover, we also work on the preferential trade agreements with some countries like Morocco, Turkey,
04:36also foreign trade agreements with Singapore and Indonesia, which give us to enter to the foreign markets without any barriers
04:45and obstacles.
04:46Thank you for joining us.
04:48Well, that's all we have time for this edition.
