Cillian Murphy, cast and creators attend Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man premiere

The cast and crew of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man gather in Birmingham for the film’s global premiere. Speaking to AFP on the red carpet, Cillian Murphy says in the film, we find Tommy Shelby 'isolated from the world - all the demons come flooding back.' The film, which is a sequel to the iconic British series, has been announced as the end of the Peaky Blinders story, something Cillian Murphy admits he’s not 'fully processed' yet. Set under the shadow of the Second World War, the creator of the iconic British series Steven Knight explains why he wanted to set the story in wartime: 'In that time, when the bombs are falling, people become very hedonistic because they don't know if they're going to be alive the next day, so almost the Peaky Blinders ethos becomes a general ethos.'
