00:00A Malaysian national and a Filipino were killed Tuesday when a helicopter crashed in a vacant
00:06lot about two hours southeast of Manila.
00:10The helicopter was carrying five people, including two Malaysians, when it went down in a grassy
00:15area of a residential district in Pililia, a small town in Rizal Province, at around
00:207.27 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.
00:24Rizal Provincial Police Officer Ram Jepanga told AFP that two passengers, a Malaysian
00:30and a Filipino, were killed in the crash.
00:33Pililia Town Mayor John Massinson said the pilot, meanwhile, had been critically injured and
00:38the three survivors are still in shock.
00:41He added that they are now en route to a tertiary hospital in Metro Manila upon the request of
00:46their families and praised the pilot for managing to put the aircraft down in the residential
00:50area without hurting anyone.
00:53Fanga added the emergency landing had been forced because their engine was about to shut down.
00:59An investigation by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is underway.
