01:27I'm overwhelmed and bewildered actually
01:31I'm really it's this is the first time I've seen I've just called them my babies
01:35I've just seen all the contestants there and it's really gorgeous to see them all
01:39And I have been away in a bubble filming something else so I really haven't been you have many
01:46You don't know the mania that is sweeping across this country. I really don't imagine if all four Beatles were

01:53That's basically that's the level of hysteria. We're all the number of films we'd have about
02:01Well that finale was unbelievable was it as emotional for you as it was for the rest of us. Yes.

02:13Understand is that we all went through and I think our lovely contestants would agree
02:19The production team and myself and we we went through it with them. We were working the same hours
02:25I mean, nobody was working as hard as potty

02:34Well, he needed the energy the poor man didn't sleep more than 45 minutes for two weeks
02:38I think but we were all doing it together and it like it really felt like we were together so
02:44It by the end. We were all at our very last shred of sanity. Yeah. Yeah, we were all demented

03:46What is it about the show that made it feel particularly Irish to you?
03:50Well, I think

03:53It's such a well-known franchise really
03:55And the whole challenge is to for it to be as good as the other one. Yeah
04:00And also to put our own mark on it really so it was really lovely that we were able to
04:04have the cuplofocle
04:05That we a lot of the iconography was very Celtic. The ome, I loved seeing the ome. The ome, yeah
04:10Yeah, and and lots of other things like even the the school benches BQ
04:15Yeah, with the little ink pots. That's right. Yeah PTSD getting into them, you know
04:19I couldn't get into them then can't get into them now
04:23But for me personally it had to do with like all the irish designers that I really wanted to

04:41There's such a wealth of talent in this country
04:44And we tend to think that we know what that is because we're usually trying to sell it to the

04:50Yeah, but actually there is such a wealth of talent when it comes to
04:54Textiles and fashion and it's not just literature
04:58But if you noticed even last night's episode a beautiful kimono that I was wearing had car a dealish written
05:04on it
05:04And we had felt or written on things there were there were little easter eggs there that only added to
05:10the design
05:10So I'm really proud that I got to on my
05:14lumpen beautiful self got to showcase a few irish designers, you know
05:18Well, they were fabulous. I've got to say thank you very much
05:21And we have to talk about our three OG traitors

06:31But what I loved about Eamon is that Eamon for me and he's just behind the camera there so I

06:41The thing about Eamon which I found so interesting because remember I was learning along with you as well
06:46You know like we were all guinea pigs this time around weren't we next year if there is one next

06:57But Eamon went in with a game plan didn't he and he was like and I was like there's something

07:04That if you go in with a game plan you're almost like look at paul d. I don't think paul

07:11And look how long he lasted so it's almost a question of being able to adapt

07:16You know there was a real three different approaches to paul d sort of approach it like a jazz musician

07:30Sort of plan that he wasn't gonna deviate from and I wonder whether that was

10:19We know how many cars we need or what a lola and like maybe tell catering we don't need the

10:29We could never ever ever call it. I think that's why it was such an enjoyable show to yeah

14:26Well it was a mixed emotion and we obviously the admission was incredible it was incredible to
14:31Share with obviously our friends um but there's the thought in the back of your mind of what's to
14:35Come and every round table was so intense so we knew eventually what was to come and uh
14:41yeah yeah and also you're thinking about what happened the previous night as well like that so
14:45Kind of when everyone's coming in for breakfast no one's as you can see as you can see no one's

14:50Talking or it was awkward yeah so it was like the breakfast after a wedding after somebody like punched a

14:59Nick i gotta say though i like that last round table where there was a lot of heat on you
15:04Like the girls came with receipts they were on you but you remained i gotta say very very cool
15:09And collective i i don't know i would have crumbled

15:16It was a bit oh god much but like i had to fight my corner i had to go for

15:20So i was never gonna back down we wanted to we wanted to give it our all so uh
15:24All or nothing i have to try and win but ultimately they called us out in our bs
15:28We were both shocked with that though because when we were talking
15:30We thought they were gonna come for me so then you can see actually
15:33In the show when they say when i think someone goes for nick and he's like
15:38Because he wasn't expecting because i thought they were coming for me
15:40We were ready to defend ben so i had like this pitch for ben i was like let's go and
15:44then
15:44She comes at me and i was like oh fuck
15:47Well we got a bone to pick with you over fey like lads you backstabbed your best friend
15:52How could you have done that for it's um it's just like a panto audience
15:58Not good we um yeah we did we struggled with this with this one for ages because obviously
16:02The name of the game is to get to the final and get the money and
16:05We were on one side fey was on the other so for us to win it we would have to
16:09do it eventually
16:10And yeah so it was a mercy killing yeah well we actually didn't know what would be
16:14Worse taking her to the final and having to do it or or doing it then but
16:18So basically you did her a favor you're welcome

17:10We're we're really going to struggle now to pull the wool over there
17:13They were so smart those three of them were so smart so so hard to get by them
17:17And obviously they they they caught us
17:19Well nick you were the man responsible for taking out future president of this country poddy

18:51Yeah, I found it really difficult. I really did I struggled with it

19:05But um no after that yeah, I struggled with it
19:08But not even just with the murders being a traitor with the banishments and knowing
19:13That they're not a traitor and people are going after them and seeing how upset they get like I did
19:18actually struggle
19:18But it was difficult. But again, you just have to keep on trying to bring it back that it's a
19:22game
19:22It's a game but in the moment it is it is really difficult and you struggle
19:25Well, Nick you had main character energy from day one. Let's remind ourselves

22:45But she she saw right through us and you thought the heat was on Ben going in
22:49That was a big problem
22:49We like we were kind of building Ben's defense so when the oil brought it to me
22:53I was going oh no
22:54Like what do I even say here and she was so strong it was impossible to
22:57When Iain puts those lasers on you I'd say your heart just shrinks

23:06What was it like standing there as the last traitor

23:25I kind of knew what way it was gonna happen

25:42Kelly when you were filming the show what did you tell your friends and family you were doing?
25:46Um to be honest it was kind of easy for me
25:49So I told them I was just going to work in Galway
25:51But I had been like planting the seed because the whole thing for me was none of my friends would
25:55believe that I
25:56Would go off my phone for two weeks willingly
25:57And I couldn't say I was going on retreat because they wouldn't believe me about that either
26:00So I had to kind of I started planting seeds really early on
26:03And it's like something my dad would do that he would like challenge me
26:07So I was like, you know what girls my dad has been saying like I bet you like 200 quid
26:11You can't go off your phone for two weeks. So I was like, you know what?
26:14I'll take that bet
26:15And so yeah, now they think I'm 200 euro richer like little do they know it's a little bit more
26:19than 200 euro

34:47It's like I knew logically it makes sense for nick to have recruited him or for them to have been

34:51But I just couldn't I couldn't fathom him being it and when he wrote that I just
34:56Absolutely broke down because at that stage. It's like it's no longer a game. It's now it's money

35:39It was literally like we were like kids in a playground running around the place hiding under the couch like

35:49One day, but I get pulled for an interview and always there looking for me for ages, but i'm upstairs
