00:00All right, right. It's Wild94.1, wild94.1.com. Joey Franchise here with Babs, and man, this guy gets hella
00:07love every time he comes to Tampa, and I missed the last show at Janice Live, but he coming back.
00:13Juvenile's with us, man.
00:14Joey, what's happening, bro?
00:16What it do, y'all? What it do, fam?
00:18Good to see you again, man. Last time we talked, it was actually during the, when you guys did the
00:22Cash Money Tour, the reunion joint.
00:24Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, right.
00:26So it's good to tap back in with you, man. How's everything?
00:30Good, man. You know, enjoying life, man. Shit, it's good. Happy to have some new music. Happy to be back,
00:37getting ready to get back on the road. Shit, it's good.
00:41Now, speaking of your new music, you know, I'm a millennial, so thank you for giving us Millennial Girlies a
00:47new anthem, BBB, going viral once they talk.
00:53A millennial, one of mine, one of us.
00:56Let's get it. We back at it. We back again.
00:58We back. We back, baby.
01:02Now, tell us, tell us, what does BBB stand for?
01:07You didn't listen to the words.
01:10I did, but explain what it stands for.
01:15Big booty.
01:17Yeah.
01:18Big booty bitches, okay.
01:21Fill in the blank.
01:25Now, Juvie, did you expect this record to kind of go viral the way that it was? Were you just
01:30in the studio just having fun with it?
01:32How did this, you know, how did it come into fruition?
01:35I was in the studio having fun with it.
01:38It's one of them beats my guys, Skolo and D-Rock made for me that I had for a minute.
01:43And I, you know how you go back and you listen to something like, wait, hold up. I think I,
01:48this is good. I think I'm, I think I'm out of fumble right here. Let me listen to this beat.
01:54And I listened to it and I just thought about it. I said, let me do a song that relates
02:01to the millennials. Me. People like me. People that came from the nine, nine and the two thousand.
02:07Nine, nine, nine, nine in the two thousands. Now, when did you first peep that it was going viral on
02:14TikTok?
02:16Oh, when I saw the lady made that, uh, it was a lady that said, uh, something about us, me
02:26and T.I. She was talking about me and T.I. saying that we was going to mess her up
02:29and, uh, we can't be making this music like this because, you know, it's going to be a lot of
02:35women with, with, uh,
02:36having injuries on their buttocks and their thighs and trying to, women going to be trying to move muscles that
02:43they, they haven't used in 20, 30 years.
02:47That, that got me right there. But then it's just all women, all millennials. It's, it's the same thing. I
02:53don't care where you see it. I've been seeing a few guys, but it's been mostly women.
02:58Now, I've, I've been seeing this too. A lot of people want Meg the stallion to hop on the remix.
03:05How you don't know if she haven't?
03:07Ooh, you know something we don't, man. What's going on?
03:12Please do tell.
03:14Tell out to Megan. That's all I got to say. Megan the stallion uploading.
03:18Period. That's what's up.
03:20She going to throw, she going to throw it back on Clay for the video?
03:23Huh?
03:24She going to throw her bike on Clay for the video?
03:27Clay Thompson?
03:28Ah.
03:30Hey, okay.
03:32Period, period.
03:33I don't know what that means.
03:34I can't, I can't, you know, I don't like to, I don't like to, uh, you know, spill the,
03:39spill the, uh, everything out like that. But all I can tell you is,
03:44Megan the stallion is uploading.
03:46Oh.
03:46Yes!
03:47Are the Megan vocals in?
03:52Now, you know, last time we talked, you guys had, uh, kind of hinted at a possible,
03:59uh, cash money movie being in the making.
04:04Um, any.
04:05A lot.
04:06Uh, well, really a lot of things we want to do.
04:11We have, you know, we really all want to do a whole lot of things.
04:14And that's one of them.
04:16But we got to all sit down and write a script, right?
04:18We got to get together and write an actual script and we all got to agree on it.
04:22So we have yet to do that, but I'm not saying it's not possible.
04:27Well, you know, it's funny you say that too, because, you know, a lot of people want,
04:30they want outcasts to tour again and make music again.
04:34And Andre Three Stacks is like.
04:36No, I do.
04:37I want that.
04:37He said the chemistry is not there, like, yet between the two.
04:42So for cash money, what would it take for the chemistry to get back with all of you guys?
04:48Even like Hot Boys and all that.
04:49Man, I couldn't answer that question.
04:51If I, I, it's one of those four parts questions.
04:55If you're talking about the Hot Boys.
04:57Yeah.
04:58But I'm living in, I'm not, I'm not harping on the past no more.
05:01I'm not even, that kind of music that I made when I was, when I was doing a Hot Boys
05:06thing,
05:06when I was doing a Hot Boys thing, I'm not even sure if I'm there in life right now.
05:09So those things got to be, those things, you know, play a big part too.
05:15Makes sense.
05:16Because Juvie is happily married, been married.
05:19Shout out to the missus that's been holding you down for years.
05:22Yeah, about to be 22 years married.
05:25Grown kids.
05:26No grandkids, I got to add that because I'm on a neck, I want some grandkids.
05:31I'm running a few businesses, of course.
05:34You know, I got a few businesses of mine that I'm running down here.
05:36And not just that, man.
05:38Just the whole fact of just being out and doing something and doing something that I really love.
05:45Because right now, this album that I'm putting out, as you know, I've been saying this from day one.
05:49This album is really for the millennials.
05:51It was really for my fan base.
05:52I'm really not trying to chase a new fan base.
05:55So I'm trying to look for another fan base.
05:56Because I can't do it.
05:58You know, I can't do it.
05:59Now, I do have somebody.
06:00I do have NBA Youngboy, for instance.
06:02He's on my album.
06:04Oh, can't he?
06:04That's the little Brody.
06:06He did an album.
06:07He dedicated it kind of to me and asked me for my blessings.
06:10And I was like, all right, well, in the future, I'm going to need your blessings.
06:13And that's how that works.
06:14That's how this works.
06:15That's good.
06:16I think that's really cool about Youngboy, man.
06:18I feel like he, you know, how is that?
06:20I know New Orleans, Brad, how is that unity within the city between the young, the YNs
06:26and the OGs?
06:28Not just in the city, man.
06:29I get along with all the young cats.
06:32Now, see, that's the crazy part about it.
06:34Like, I say, you want to ride with a young nigga?
06:36You know, my young dudes who know me, they love me to death.
06:40And it's a joke to them.
06:41Because I just actually did an album with Rob 49.
06:44So I get along.
06:45I'm one of the older cats that love the young cats to death.
06:50And every time I see them, I show them and I tell them that.
06:53And I kind of, like, get behind them.
06:55Because I tell them, like, I always tell my cats, the older cats like me, look, bro,
06:58how you want to see them?
07:00You want to see them with a microphone?
07:02You want to see them making videos, taking care of his family?
07:04Or you want to see them with that child in the alley trying to knock your fucking head off?
07:07How you want to see them?
07:08Me, personally, I'd rather see them doing something positive with their lives and taking care of
07:12their families.
07:13And if this is the way to get them off the streets, hey, man, I'm all for it.
07:18So, you know, I'm one of the, like I said, I love the young cats.
07:21I do a lot of things with the high schools.
07:23I go to the high schools, prep rallies.
07:25And, you know, I try to prep rally them up and hype them up for testing, for yearly testers.
07:31So, I love the YNs.
07:34I haven't even wanted to say the, I don't even talk about it.
07:37That's the new thing.
07:38I see my young dudes.
07:42Now, you do so much in the community, man.
07:44You know, you have such, you had such a decorated rap career and it's evolved into so much.
07:48Businesses, you name it.
07:50You just mentioned, you know, the stuff that you do around for the high schools.
07:53Do you see yourself like running for mayor or something like that, dog?
07:55Because I feel like you're just, you are your mayor status right now.
07:59Nah, but we got the mayor that we want in office down here, a marina.
08:03So, nah, I don't have to run for mayor to create a positive change in my city.
08:08I don't have to be in office to be a philanthropist.
08:13I don't have to be, I don't have to do those things to create awareness and get out there and
08:19help my people out.
08:19I'm going to do that anyway.
08:20That's just who I am.
08:21So, you know, office, I think that's a tough job running for office because you have this higher level of
08:28responsibility at all times.
08:31And I don't know if I'm ready for that.
08:33Respect.
08:34No, it is, it is.
08:35Now, touching back base when you were talking about, you know, the YNs and, you know, the young guys and
08:42you being involved with the youth.
08:43Can you talk to us about, like, mental health?
08:47Because, you know, I'm pretty sure it's a struggle, like, you know, young people that are in the streets, but
08:52they're also trying to get out of the streets.
08:54But they're in the streets to take care of their family.
08:57They got a lot on their shoulder.
08:58Because, as you know, like, there's literally been two back-to-back suicides with the young guys.
09:04And I'm pretty sure they were battling depression.
09:06So, how did you manage that, like, coming up?
09:11Well, for me, I think, I think I was blessed to be surrounded by great people at all times.
09:19You got to want to.
09:21You know, you can't blame, you can't feel sorry for yourself, even though we all, we all go through things.
09:27We have things going on at home.
09:29You know, sometimes parents ain't at home or parents not doing their part.
09:32Those things happen to some of these young cats.
09:34Everybody's story is different.
09:36But, you know, when you're out there, you can't be, you can't keep harping on, you know, why me, why
09:43me, why me, why me?
09:44You got to go out there and try to do something.
09:46You know what I'm saying?
09:47And some of these cats don't get the right guidance on the right thing to do.
09:51And they go the way that they see fit, right?
09:54That could take care of their family.
09:56And I'm not going to be the one to say, hey, man, that ain't, you know, that ain't what's happening,
09:59right?
10:00But I will be the one to tell them, hey, man, this is the consequences for what you're doing, and
10:05this is where you'll wind up at.
10:07And eyes on you, because we all have to make our own decisions.
10:09But this is what, these are the consequences for that choice.
10:13You can make a good decision, you can make a bad decision, which, and they both, all of them can
10:18affect your life.
10:19So try to make less bad decisions as possible, you know, and to the youth out there that's going through
10:26it, man, I could tell you from my own self-experience, you got to really, like, you know, pull it
10:33back in, man, and face your own reality.
10:36And, you know, go get a job.
10:38Go look for a job.
10:40Ask somebody for a job.
10:41If you can't fill out a job application or something like that, man, start asking questions.
10:46Start asking questions for people that you see around you.
10:50People that ain't going to help somebody that don't want to be helped.
10:52You know, that's the rule.
10:54So first of all, you have to show that you want to be helped, and I'm pretty sure there's somebody
10:57out there that's going to help.
11:00I like that.
11:01Damn, good wisdom from the OG right there.
11:04And you just have an OG wisdom aura about you, too, because I've met you on two occasions.
11:09Very, like, nice dude.
11:11And I appreciate you for even talking to us here on Zoom.
11:16Now, I do have a question, because I know you did the versus battle with Cash Money.
11:21Are you ever going to do an individual one?
11:23And who would you see yourself going up against solo?
11:26Because you got the records to do a solo versus battle.
11:30I think I got some work to do.
11:33I don't think I'm ready to stand up there with some of these cats.
11:37I'm going to be straight honest with you.
11:38I feel like I got work to do.
11:40So just catch me a year from then and ask me that question a year or two from now and
11:45ask me that question.
11:45I plan on dropping two or three albums in these next couple of years, right?
11:50So ask me that question then, and then I'll say something.
11:53I'll give you a name.
11:55Now, Juvie, you know, we're now marking, what, 20 years since Reality Check came out.
11:59You know, that album went number one.
12:01It did great.
12:02You had a lot of bangers on their rodeo.
12:04Way I be leaning.
12:06You know, when you see, you know, these albums kind of, you know, grow and, you know, kind of like
12:12fine wine,
12:13become what it is.
12:14Like, do you ever look back and like, you know, do you ever do anything special for these occasions?
12:18Like, are we going to get, you know, some love in it next week when you touch the stage over
12:21at Janice Live?
12:22How do you approach these things when, you know, when these, you know, hit that, like, kind of milestone?
12:27Hey, man, truthfully, ever since Tiny Desk, I've been following my fans.
12:32I've been letting them kind of lead it away because they're the ones to convince me to do Tiny Desk.
12:36And I feel like my fans got me to where I'm at right now, out of my struggles and everything.
12:41So, right, so I feel like whatever they want, you know, the whole Megan Thee Stallion thing, that's the fans,
12:48man.
12:49So, you see what I'm saying?
12:50So, I'm all about that.
12:52I'm all about giving my fans what they want, you know.
12:54So, if that happens, it happens.
12:59That was dope.
13:00Now, are you going to have the live band which you come February 25th on Janice Live?
13:05That was crazy.
13:06I heard when you had the band last time.
13:08I always have the band.
13:10From now on when I perform, I don't know if you know that, I really don't perform without the band.
13:14I didn't know that.
13:14If they say I'm coming, if they say I'm coming, it's going to be with the band.
13:19Truthfully.
13:20You know what I like?
13:21I like the fact that I feel like we're out of that space of people putting an age limit on
13:26good music.
13:27You know what I'm saying?
13:28Even when you look at the Grammy rap category this year, Clips, Kendrick, you know, these are young dudes.
13:34So, can you notice a shift?
13:37And, you know, Ti just dropped.
13:39So, it's like everybody is...
13:41All right.
13:41My fucking dog.
13:42Yeah.
13:43My fucking dog.
13:44Let's go, Tip.
13:45Let's go.
13:46Yo, yo, yo.
13:47Yo, yo, yo, all sound like...
13:48Yo, all sound still good.
13:49Yo, all sound good still.
13:51I need Snoop.
13:52I need Eminem.
13:53Where you at, Scott Face?
13:55Where you at?
13:56Yo, I need a mark.
13:58I just told Face, it's time, bro.
14:00Let's do this.
14:02It's our time, baby.
14:04So, you notice that shift.
14:05You notice that shift, too.
14:08Yeah, but I don't think it's just...
14:10I'm not saying that they don't still mess with the other guys.
14:13I'm just saying that we're getting a little love.
14:16Put it like that.
14:17But I don't think by one minute the fans are saying, forget these other guys.
14:23Hell no.
14:24These cats are marvelous.
14:26These young cats out here, the things they're doing, the barriers they're breaking, right
14:32now make cats like me want to come back and get some of this money.
14:36Yeah, no.
14:37I applaud them.
14:39What you guys did back then and to see it kind of show up now, the way everybody's starting
14:44to dress again, all the young guys are starting to tap into that 90s, 2000s culture as far
14:50as fashion, music, everything like that.
14:51So, this is a perfect spot right now to be dropping music.
14:56Legends like you guys just come out and show them how it's done.
15:00Stuff that they missed out on.
15:02That I grew up on.
15:03There's a lot going on.
15:03I'm back, baby.
15:04I got a shoe deal and everything.
15:06Get out of here.
15:07I'm back, baby.
15:08I wear a size 9.
15:09What are we doing, man?
15:10I got a size 9.
15:10I got a deal with Patrick Ewing right now.
15:12Oh, the Ewing?
15:13What's the thing I'm doing with Patrick Ewing?
15:14With the Ewing joints?
15:16Yeah.
15:17Nice.
15:17I'm designing them now.
15:18So, I ain't finished my designs yet.
15:20But, yeah.
15:22I love it.
15:24I love it.
15:25Judy is back.
15:26I've noticed the BBL trend is going away.
15:30People is having their regular asses again.
15:33You feel me?
15:34Hey, you know what's crazy?
15:38The BBB song, right?
15:40Right.
15:41I don't know how it's related to the BBL thing, but do you see how many women are in the
15:46gym
15:46when they post my song playing?
15:48Yes.
15:49You got to motivate.
15:50Everybody's in the gym.
15:51I got to get my big ass in the gym now.
15:53Shit.
15:54I mean.
15:57Hey, Legend.
15:58I'm going to post one of me and that motherfucker running.
16:05Hey, Legend.
16:07We appreciate you for always, you know, showing love to us here in Tampa at WOW 94.1.
16:13The city is excited.
16:14I've been hearing the response, especially from the ticket giveaway.
16:17The ladies are ready.
16:19Everybody's ready for you.
16:21I hope they're ready, man.
16:22I'm going to sing a lot.
16:23I'm going to sing the old, but I'm going to sing some of that new shit, too.
16:26Yeah.
16:27Just the one y'all seen on the internet, though.
16:28Just the internet song.
16:29You got to send it over here, too, man.
16:31We'd love to play it on the air.
16:33I got you.
16:34I got you.
16:35We got to make that happen.
16:36You on here.
16:36All right.
16:38So, yo.
16:39Keep it up, man.
16:40Yeah.
16:41Send me that record ASAP.
16:42And we'll see you here the 25th, next week, February 25th.
16:46Janice Live is going down with Juvie.
16:49One question I got to ask, man, is, May, I'm going down to New Orleans, and you know
16:53I need some Juvie juice.
16:54How do I get it in bulk?
16:55Because my boy and his fiancee getting married out there in New Orleans, and I need that Juvie
17:00juice on deck as a gift.
17:01Oh, all right.
17:02Well, you want it in bulk.
17:04Yeah, I need to get that Juvie juice on it in bulk.
17:05You have to go to the brewery.
17:06You got to go to the brewery, right?
17:08So, you want to go to Urban South Brewery, and it's on Chappatula Street.
17:13Say less.
17:13Right where they shot the Sinners movie at.
17:15Oh, word!
17:16They shot the Sinners movie at?
17:17Yes!
17:18So, they shot the Sinners movie in my neighborhood, right across the street from where I grew
17:22up at.
17:22So, I was on set when they shot Sinners, and they got pictures of me, as a matter of fact,
17:27some of the guys from Sinners, because I took pictures with everybody.
17:29They had Back That Ass Up t-shirts when I pulled up on the set.
17:32I wanted to get in the movie and sit, but, you know, I don't think they respected my
17:36acting skills.
17:38But, that's another thing.
17:39We'll talk about that later.
17:42Oh, my God.
17:42That's awesome.
17:44We love everything that you've been doing.
17:46We love everything you got going on.
17:48The Tiny Desk episode, very iconic.
17:52I didn't even know you could really sing acapella like that.
17:55Like, it make it sound good.
17:58I'm a bad-time kitten.
18:00Okay.
18:02You know, you say, in the bathroom, everything sounds good.
18:05I'm the king of the bathroom.
18:07I do looping and all that shit in the bathroom.
18:11Appreciate you, Dewey.
18:12Appreciate y'all, man.
