00:00Superheroes have been a vibrant part of nerd culture since Superman emerged in 1938, popularizing
00:04the modern idea of the genre. For decades, Marvel and DC were the protagonists of these
00:08adventures, reinventing stories and keeping the tradition alive. Today, most famous heroes
00:12belong to these two giants, but they are far from being the only ones in the game. Some
00:15of the most iconic characters in the world were created by companies and authors who
00:18never had any connection with the two. To define a hero here, we keep it simple, secret
00:22identity, fighting evil, and a distinct look. Invincible. At this point, everyone knows
00:26Invincible, whether through the comic that ran for a decade and a half or the acclaimed
00:29TV series. The story follows Mark Grayson on his journey from being the son of the world's
00:33greatest hero to becoming Earth's protector against all kinds of intergalactic threats.
00:36What started out seeming like a superhero parody evolved into one of the freshest takes on the
00:40genre in decades. The plot scales impressively, culminating in the mission to save the entire
00:44universe from the threat of the Viltrumites. Watching Mark grow from an impulsive boy into
00:47the only man capable of saving the universe is a fantastic journey. This evolution resonates
00:51with countless people around the world, solidifying the work as a modern classic.
00:53Hellboy. This half demon, half human superhero is the number one guy to call when it comes
00:57to the supernatural. As the main hero of Dark Horse comics, his battles against Nazis, witches,
01:02and every possible lovecraftian horror have captured readers' attention for years. His
01:05design is instantly recognizable, red skin, filed down horns, and a massive stone right
01:09hand. Despite his appearance, he is a surprisingly gentle giant, with a heart as full of care
01:13as it is of disdain for Nazis. He stands out as the best supernatural investigator outside
01:17the major publisher sphere, rivaling Constantine. Hellboy remains one of the most tragic
01:21and well-crafted heroes out there. Power Rangers. Based on Japan's Super Sentai series,
01:25the Power Rangers are an ever-changing group of teenage superheroes who defend the world
01:28with their morphers and zords. The cast changes almost every season, as does the main threat,
01:32allowing the team to appeal to countless generations of children. They embody the high
01:35action and straightforward battles against evil that lie at the heart of every hero story.
01:38And let's be honest, how can you hate giant robots that combine into even bigger robots?
01:42If we had to highlight a single ranger, it would, of course, be the legendary Tommy Oliver.
01:46Spawn. Spawn is the second flagship series from Image that has carried the company since its
01:50foundation. The story follows the assassin Al Simmons who, after dying and going to hell,
01:54is given the chance to return as a hell spawn by the demon Malbolgia. He is reborn as Spawn,
01:58the severely burned hunter of all things dark and deadly. He is one of the most iconic and
02:01important antiheroes of all time, defining how this genre of comics should look visually.
02:05Spawn has been the face of Image for 30 years and shows no signs of stopping.
02:08Shazam. Although he is a DC star today, the world's mightiest mortal was originally created by
02:12Fawcett Comics as a response to Superman. Among all the copies The Man of Steel generated,
02:16Shazam is undoubtedly the most successful. The story of Billy Batson, a young orphan chosen by
02:20the wizard Shazam to receive the power of the gods, is captivating. Billy's childhood innocence
02:24combined with the wisdom and magic of his powers creates one of the most interesting and pure
02:28heroes in comics, deserving of his prominence. Optimus Prime. Optimus may not seem like a superhero
02:32at first glance, but he fights evil, has a distinct look, which functions as a costume,
02:36and an identity. As the leader of the Autobots, his mission is to protect the universe from the
02:39destructive evil of the Decepticons. The Transformers franchise is a powerful force,
02:43and Optimus always leads the charge as the altruistic and courageous hero, standing as one
02:47of the greatest leaders in all of fiction, focused on creating a tomorrow where everyone is safe.
02:50The Ninja Turtles. These four are everything you could want in superheroes, ninjas, brothers,
02:55mutants, and turtles. They began as completely normal turtles, but after being bathed in mutagenic
02:59ooze, they were raised by their rat sensei and father, Master Splinter, to become warriors and
03:03defeat the evil foot clan. Interestingly, these half-shell heroes started as pastiches,
03:06satirical imitations, of Daredevil. Although the DNA of that inspiration is easy to see in their
03:11origin, they became sensations in their own right, surpassing the initial parody. The Ninja Turtles
03:15perfectly combine family drama, humor, martial arts action, high fantasy, and heavy science fiction.
03:20This blend creates a truly unique experience that embodies everything heroism should be.
03:23These four brothers have proven to be butt-kicking machines and life-saving heroes,
03:26and they undoubtedly deserve their place at the top of this list as the greatest heroes outside the
03:30marvel slash dc access.
