00:00Night Shift Makes the Building Honest
00:04During the day, the historical wing exudes a certain charm – brick and stone, glass and
00:10brass plaques about legacy and care. But as the clock strikes midnight, a transformation takes
00:17place. The fluorescent lights hum like a held breath, the automatic doors stay locked,
00:23and the building sheds its daytime facade. It remembers what it used to be – a place where
00:29people went in scared and came out different, if they came out at all. By policy, we treat it like
00:36any other part of campus – we check the doors, the lights, and respond to any alarms. It's just
00:43another part of our routine – a building with a purpose in the present, not just a relic of the
00:49past. But there's a reason I don't like going to the fifth floor alone anymore. And it isn't in the
00:55policy manual.
