00:00The Iranian government is carrying out a vast retaliation campaign across the Gulf region following the joint U.S.-Israeli military
00:07strike against the regime.
00:09Explosions have so far been reported across several U.S. air bases in the region, including in Bahrain, Jordan, and
00:16the United Arab Emirates.
00:17Take a look at this drone strike that happened in Bahrain.
00:31Meanwhile, Dubai's media office confirmed there have been multiple drone strikes in the city, including at an airport and two
00:38hotels.
00:39Joining us now is Dubai-based reporter Inzimam Rashid.
00:42Inzimam, what can you tell us about the Iranian strikes that have been targeting the UAE today?
00:49And Emirati officials are really crediting their missile defense system with intercepting and destroying hundreds of missiles and drones.
00:56But the international airport and luxury hotels were damaged.
01:04It's been a long 24 hours for the whole of the Gulf, not just the UAE.
01:10You've got to remember all of the GCC countries have been targeted by Oman.
01:15Oman, of course, brokering those mediation discussions in Geneva over the last few days, which clearly didn't work out.
01:23But here in the UAE, we've seen several strikes and, as a result, several areas being targeted and causing great
01:34catastrophe and destruction.
01:36Let's start with Abu Dhabi, the capital down the road from where I am.
01:41The airport there, we've seen the death of a man, seven people injured because of a drone strike on the
01:46international airport.
01:48But earlier in the day, yesterday as well, debris fell from the missile being intercepted by the UAE defense system.
01:56That fell down to the ground.
01:58That also killed a man injured several.
02:03Dubai, where there are two smaller U.S. bases.
02:06We didn't actually expect those to be targeted, yet Iran did fire their missiles and drones to this part of
02:14the world, to Dubai, a place which is often seen as safe and secure.
02:18And so it came as a huge shock to not just the UAE government here, but also the people that
02:24actually live here.
02:25We saw the Fairmont Hotel, a five-star hotel on the Palm Jumeirah, get struck by a drone and debris
02:32of a drone, which then caused a huge explosion and many people to evacuate that hotel.
02:40We saw the side of the famous Burj al Arab Hotel, a seven-star hotel, the iconic sail-looking hotel.
02:47That caught a light because of debris falling down.
02:50But I think most notably of the last 24 hours is what you can actually see right behind me.
02:56This area is Jebel Ali Port.
02:59And at Jebel Ali Port, there are a number of U.S. Navy vessels parked up, laying in wait, ready
03:07to be used and deployed if needs be.
03:10Iran specifically targeted this area late last night with a barrage of missiles, things that I could witness from my
03:18balcony here.
03:19We could see the interceptions taking place in the sky, a lot of debris falling down.
03:25But actually, clearly, one missile or drone, unconfirmed yet what that is, targeted the Jebel Ali Port and reached it.
03:33There was a huge plume of smoke, a lot of fire late into the night.
03:37So, look, it was a very uneasy day for the UAE yesterday and for its residents, for the 200 nationalities
03:44that live together here.
03:46And I think waking up this morning, they'll be seeing scenes like this, worrying even more, and we'll be thinking
03:52about what the rest of the day holds.
04:07Here we go.
04:09How are we going to go?
04:12We'll be talking about what the rest of the system has to take place in the UK.
04:13We'll be talking about what the rest of the system will be looking at the Uni.
04:15We'll be talking about that in the UK.
04:15So, you can see about the other two countries.
04:15So, we're going to look at the Uni.
