00:00Our second ranked-versus-ranked matchup in the SEC is Tennessee and Alabama.
00:04We'll talk about some of the other SEC spots in this opening hour,
00:08including Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
00:10But with Tennessee and Alabama, JY, a lot of people will, you know,
00:16you see an Alabama game, and they are a team that I have, you know,
00:24a friend or two who will just kind of pop them.
00:27Hey, you like this, Bama, over?
00:29Because you see Bama, you're like, all right, well, the game starts at 160.
00:33That's just how these games are played, right?
00:37We see it all the time here, Coach.
00:42What do you expect, though, with a very different style
00:46on the other side of the court in Tennessee?
00:50Rick Barnes is going to make this a street fight.
00:54And if he makes this a street fight, I don't think Alabama's got a chance.
00:59They're going to slow this game down, and they're going to make you do it.
01:03Tennessee is 15th in the SEC in offensive possession time, right?
01:10They're going to walk per possession length.
01:14They're going to walk it up.
01:16Kevin, they're at 18.8 seconds.
01:18That's average.
01:19That's their average.
01:21So that means more times than not, unless they're getting run out to transition,
01:25they're at 20, 23 seconds at times.
01:30That, I don't think people understand.
01:32The one thing, like, a team hates that wants to play fast
01:37is a team that goes exactly the opposite way.
01:42And in order to win and run, kind of goes where I'm going with the Arkansas thing,
01:48and this is my coaching background, you have to rebound.
01:54Tennessee, offensive rebounding, number one in league, defensive rebounding,
02:01number two in league.
02:04The kills, the big shot you always worry about as a coach
02:07is the offensive rebound, kickout three.
02:12Well, Alabama's 13th in offensive rebounding percentage.
02:15So those kickout threes, not going to happen.
02:18To me, I love Tennessee, and I love the under.
02:22I think they bring this to the deep end of the pool,
02:25and I don't think Nate Oates' team can swim their way out of it.
02:29So I like Tennessee in the game.
02:31I don't have a great feel for the total
02:33because I think everything that coach says makes a ton of sense.
02:36I also have, I think Nate Oates might need to find a better balance,
02:44or maybe he's just playing to the roster that he has this year.
02:48That's just, it's incapable of playing defense, so why try?
02:52I don't know, I would think maybe mix in a little bit of effort
02:54on that side of the pool could go a long way.
02:58It just doesn't seem to be their MO.
03:02This is a game where, you know, it's,
03:05I find myself a lot of times, or not a lot, but a handful,
03:09of looking at a road team and being like,
03:13what is home court worth these days?
03:16Seven, eight points, right?
03:18Like, home teams lay so many points.
03:22Tennessee laying four and a half does not feel too heavy of an ask.
03:27Tennessee is, I actually think, a bit better than Alabama.
03:31Not wildly better, but a bit better.
03:34Maybe two points better.
03:37So then to tack on two and a half,
03:40when I feel like occasionally we pay six points for home court,
03:44that doesn't bother me.
03:45I look at Alabama this year when we've put them on the road
03:49against the best teams in this conference.
03:52I mean, again, who fits that billing, right?
03:55Probably Florida, probably Vanderbilt.
03:56They lost both.
03:58They were blown out by Florida.
04:00They lost by six to Vanderbilt.
04:02Tennessee has been playing much better at home.
04:05And, coach, I just think this is a good spot for the Vols.
04:08I laid the four and a half.
04:10If you could find it really quick,
04:12Jalen Carey over his rebounding prop,
04:14the best offensive rebound against a team that can't rebound
04:18in a street fight.
04:20If you could find Jalen Carey's rebound prop,
04:22run to the window and take it.
