00:00Is your computer taking forever to start up?
00:02You turn it, and go make a coffee.
00:06Come back.
00:08And it's still staring at you with that spinning loading circle.
00:11Ooh, I've been there.
00:14It's incredibly frustrating.
00:15It feels like you're losing precious minutes of your life, just waiting.
00:19But what if I told you that you could fix this, right now, for free, with just a few simple
00:26clicks?
00:26No need to buy expensive new hardware or call in a tech expert.
00:30Today, I'm going to walk you through three super easy steps that will transform your slow-booting PC into a
00:36speed machine.
00:37By the end of this video, your computer will be ready to go almost as soon as you press the
00:42power button.
00:43So, stick around, and let's get that boot time down to just a few seconds.
00:48First things first, let's tackle the startup clutter.
00:51When your computer boots up, a whole bunch of programs decide to start themselves automatically.
00:56Whether you need them or not.
00:58Think of it like a dozen people all trying to get through a single door at the same time it
01:01creates a massive traffic jam.
01:03We need to clear that out.
01:05It's super simple.
01:07Right-click on your taskbar at the bottom of the screen and select Task Manager.
01:10If you see a simple view, just click on More Details.
01:13Now, look for the Startup Apps tab.
01:17Here, you'll see a list of all the applications that launch when you turn on your PC.
01:22Look at that Startup Impact column it tells you which ones are the biggest resource.
01:27See something you don't need right away?
01:29Like a gaming launcher or a music app?
01:32Just click on it and hit the Disable button in the top right corner.
01:35Don't worry.
01:36This doesn't uninstall the program.
01:39It just stops it from automatically running its startup.
01:41You can still open it manually whenever you want.
01:44Go through the list and disable anything you don't need immediately.
01:47This one step alone can make a huge difference.
01:51Next up, we're going to enable a hidden feature in Windows called Fast Startup.
01:55This is a game.
01:56Basically, when you shut down your PC, Fast Startup saves a part of your system's state to a file.
02:02Then, when you turn it back on, it loads from that file instead of starting from scratch, which is much,
02:09much faster.
02:10It's kind of like hibernating, but better.
02:13To turn this on go.
02:16To your stat menu.
02:18And type Control Panel.
02:22Open it up and then find Power Options.
02:29If you don't see it, change the view by setting in the top right to large icons or small icons.
02:35Once you're in Power Options, look on the left-hand side and click Choose what the Power buttons do.
02:41You might see that the shutdown settings at the bottom are grayed out.
02:44No.
02:45Problem.
02:46Just click the link at the top that says Change Settings that are currently unavailable.
02:51Now, you should be able to check the box that says Turn on Fast Startup.
02:56Make sure it's checked.
02:58Click Save Changes and you're all set.
03:01Your next boot-up will be significantly quicker.
03:03It's a simple switch that tells your computer to stop wasting time.
03:07All right, for our third and final trick, we're going to do a little spring cleaning.
03:13Over time, your computer accumulates a ton of temporary files from programs and web browsing.
03:18These files were only needed for a moment, but they often stick around,
03:22clogging up your system and sometimes slowing down the startup process.
03:26Think of it as digital dust bunnies hiding in the corners of your hard drive.
03:30Let's get rid of them.
03:32Press the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard at the same time.
03:35This will open the Run Command box.
03:38In this box, type the percentage symbol, then the word Temp, and another percentage symbol.
03:45So that's %10%, then hit Enter.
03:49A folder will pop up, filled with a bunch of files and folders with weird names.
03:54This is all the junk we need to delete.
03:57Don't be afraid.
03:58Just press CTRL plus A to select everything in the folder, and then hit the Delete key.
04:03You might get a pop-up saying some files can't be deleted because they're currently in use.
04:08That's perfectly normal.
04:10Just check the box.
04:11It says Do This for All Current Items and click Skip.
04:14Clearing out this folder regularly is great for your PC's overall health
04:17and can give your boot time another little boost.
04:20And there you have it.
04:22Three simple, effective steps to drastically reduce your PC's boot time.
04:27We've managed our startup apps to prevent a digital traffic jam.
04:30We've enabled the powerful, fast startup feature.
04:33And we've cleared out all that useless junk from our temporary files folder.
04:37Look at this.
04:37The same computer that took ages to start is now up and running in just a few seconds.
04:42No more waiting.
04:43No more frustration.
04:44You can get right to what you need to do.
04:46It's amazing what a few minutes of tweaking can accomplish.
04:49I hope this guide was helpful and that your computer is now booting up faster than ever before.
