00:04Hey, Cosmo! Welcome to another episode of Cosmo Convos with Ida.
00:08That's me.
00:09So I'm here today with our February cover stars, Kalil and Gabby.
00:14Yay!
00:16Okay, so congrats on being our Cosmo cover stars this month.
00:21What went through your heads when you first found out that you'd be on the cover together?
00:27Oh! Exciting because it's been a while since our last cover together.
00:31I can't even remember what we are.
00:32I think this is our fourth time to be on a cover.
00:35Together, as a couple.
00:37Ever.
00:38We were also part of Cosmo 2022, our cover, before we left LA.
00:43Wow, 2022! So it's been four years.
00:46Yes, four years.
00:49So it's exciting to be back.
00:51Yeah, did you like the concept?
00:53Yeah, very cute, very us.
00:56We had a photo book at weddings.
00:59Well, you already answered what your history with Cosmo is.
01:03But did either of you grow up reading it?
01:05Or do you remember your first Cosmo moment?
01:08My first Cosmo moment definitely when I was...
01:12It was 2017.
01:14It was my first cover shoot for Cosmo.
01:16Wow!
01:17OMG!
01:18Yeah, 2017. I was like 18.
01:2018 years old.
01:22Yeah.
01:22I used to remember that day.
01:24I feel like that's my ultimate Cosmo moment.
01:27My very first experience with Cosmo was my mom used to buy the physical Cosmo magazines to print.
01:36And she wouldn't let me read them because there were some articles not made for kids.
01:42And I was always so intrigued because as a kid, you're like, why?
01:45Why?
01:46Why not?
01:46Yeah.
01:47So that was my first experience.
01:48No, crap. It's a few prints.
01:49Buti na, ako na abutan ko yun eh.
01:51In 2017, may print pa yung Cosmo.
01:54You were allowed to read your own issue naman.
01:56Yeah, because I was 18.
01:59Pasok, pasok.
02:00Okay.
02:01So since it's Love Month, and you've spent around what, nine Valentines?
02:06Uh, eight.
02:07Eight.
02:07So this one is your eighth.
02:10Eight.
02:11So do you have a tradition at this point?
02:13Or is it like different every year?
02:15Uh, there's no certain tradition.
02:17I would say, siguro the most common thing in our yearly celebration would be good food.
02:24Yeah.
02:25I mean, that's, that's a non-negotiable.
02:29It's a staple in our relationship.
02:31Good food.
02:31We want to eat, like, at a really good place.
02:35And, syempre, I give her flowers every year.
02:37So that's a tradition.
02:38So I'm sure you have reservations now for next week.
02:42Is it next week?
02:43Yeah.
02:43We have a confirming location.
02:46Okay, so our shoot today, again, was all about being each other's muse.
02:51And honestly, the internet agrees that you guys have nailed being an Instagram couple.
02:58So as an Instagram boyfriend.
03:01Um, any practical tips for being each other's muse or photographer?
03:05I echo yun talaga.
03:06That's your specialty.
03:07That's, that's your course.
03:09No, as a muse din also daw.
03:11Oh, okay.
03:12Uh, okay.
03:14Practical advice.
03:16You have to get to know your muse.
03:20Not just, um, like, for instance kami.
03:24Um, of course I know Gabby as my partner.
03:26But when she poses in front of a camera, she's different.
03:31She's, she becomes Gabby the, the, the, the, the model, Gabby the, the high fashion, my alter ego.
03:38Yeah.
03:39And she's very particular with details.
03:41So you have to know what, what your muse wants.
03:45You have to know your, the best angles of your muse.
03:49And, uh, the goal, uh, of each shoot that, that you guys are in the wing.
03:55Uh, and.
03:56Um, super professional, no one guys.
03:59Super practical advice though.
04:00And just try to have, try to have fun.
04:03Yeah.
04:03What about you Gabby?
04:04As a muse, like, as the model of the photos.
04:07How do you direct?
04:08I'm very lucky because Kalil's really a photographer.
04:11Okay.
04:11Like, he really knows what he's doing.
04:13So I'm really super lucky.
04:15Um, yeah, I guess I just really have fun whenever he's shooting me.
04:20And guys, extra patience.
04:21Extra patience.
04:23Girls, extra patience.
04:24Okay.
04:26Ito yung, ito yung, ito yung frustrate.
04:27But, um, minsan mas priority ni Kalil yung backdrop.
04:29Kung pantay ba yung.
04:30Grabe yung backdrop.
04:31I mean, kung pantay pa yung, what they call that.
04:34Composition.
04:35Composition, blah, blah.
04:36Pero babe, agtaba ka dyan.
04:39Ayan.
04:40You have to be patient when it comes to that.
04:42Because especially like him, he's a photographer.
04:44Yung iniintindi niya talaga yung composition ng photo.
04:46Pero ako, iniintindi ko yung study.
04:48Okay.
04:49So, in today's dating culture naman,
04:52everyone's talking about situationships, no labels.
04:55Did you ever go through a phase like that,
04:58na kayo, na parang no label,
05:00or like, we're taking it slow,
05:01but actually, kating-kating na kayo mag DTR?
05:04Or like...
05:05Because what's DTR?
05:06Define the relationship.
05:07Ah, okay. Oh my god, sorry.
05:09Sorry.
05:10Okay.
05:10Ah, okay.
05:11It's been a long time.
05:12Ah, okay.
05:13It's been a long time.
05:15That's true.
05:16Ah,
05:17we haven't reached the situation.
05:19I think that's a very new concept for us.
05:22Yeah.
05:22Well, I've never, you guys,
05:24I mean like, I've had Kalil for nine years.
05:26You see, you...
05:27Yeah.
05:27I think at first, there was a point,
05:29that during our first year,
05:31we wanted to take things slow.
05:32We don't wear a Russian tooth.
05:34Yeah.
05:35But we kind of DTR-ed early.
05:39DTR-ed.
05:40A bit early.
05:41Okay.
05:42Okay.
05:43I know other people, parang years now.
05:45Yeah.
05:46Okay.
05:47So that's the advice, guys.
05:48Huwag yung patagalin.
05:49Yeah.
05:50DTR-ed.
05:51When you know, you know.
05:52Ah, that's true.
05:53Okay.
05:53And when you don't know,
05:55you don't know.
05:56You don't know.
05:56You move on and you watch.
05:58That's true.
05:59Okay.
05:59So you've grown both individually and as a couple,
06:04in the public eye.
06:05What's one thing you've learned about love
06:07that you didn't know when you first started dating?
06:10Well, when I was younger,
06:12because we started very young.
06:13I was 18, he was 21.
06:14So of course, the concept of love,
06:16especially in my head during that time,
06:18for an 18-year-old,
06:19is so different from how I view it as a 27-year-old.
06:23When I was 18,
06:24I actually thought that it would just be all,
06:26oh my gosh, kilig, goals,
06:29and you know, all that kilig butterflies part.
06:32But it's actually really not that.
06:34I feel like love is just really a constant commitment
06:37to a person you actually care for.
06:40And you really have to have that mutual respect for each other
06:44to keep the relationship going.
06:47I guess it's our first time to experience a love
06:53that has matured through the years.
06:55Yeah.
06:55So we basically grew up together in our 20s.
06:58Yeah.
06:58In our 20s.
06:59In my whole 20s,
07:01you're really loose with Khalil.
07:03And also him, 21.
07:05Yeah.
07:05So the concept of commitment is something that we learned together.
07:09Yeah.
07:09That it's not just...
07:12Of course, when we were young,
07:13a commitment to us before that,
07:16oh, you answered me,
07:17okay, we're boyfriend and girlfriend.
07:18Okay, yeah.
07:18Yay, we're together.
07:20But no, the actual hard work...
07:23Staying committed even in the ugly parts.
07:25Yeah.
07:26It's going through all that
07:28and still wanting and choosing to be with your partner
07:31because of the love that you share.
07:34I think that's as real as it gets.
07:37Yeah.
07:38Okay.
07:38So last question.
07:39What's your message for Cosmo girls
07:41who are single
07:43and those who are in relationships
07:45this Valentine's Day?
07:47People who are single,
07:49don't pressure yourselves, guys.
07:51I mean,
07:52there's nothing wrong with being single.
07:54Actually,
07:55have the best time of your life
07:56exploring
07:57and getting to know yourself even more.
08:01Hindi naman kabawasan kapag wala kang partner.
08:04I don't believe that.
08:05I feel like
08:05as long as you love yourself
08:07and you value yourself,
08:08you're really good.
08:09To those who are in a relationship,
08:11may it be short-term or long-term,
08:13this Valentine's Day
08:15make each other feel special.
08:17Yeah.
08:19Even with the simplest thing, huh?
08:20Try to make
08:22this Valentine's Day
08:23as memorable as possible
08:25because down the line,
08:27that's what matters the most.
08:29Like to us,
08:30nine years in,
08:32you know,
08:33our memories are what we cherish the most
08:36and that's the most priceless, I guess.
08:39So yeah,
08:40and for single,
08:41go guys.
08:43Enjoy!
08:44Enjoy!
